Her gesture is a reminder of how special dads are, especially to their daughters.

Miranda (@miranda.rosette) realized she couldn't have her dead father attend her wedding, so she placed an empty chair and requested all guests to follow a simple instruction. The bride wanted to honor her father and include him on her most special day, so she asked the guests to place a flower on a seat specially reserved for her daddy-dearest. The Social Vow (@socialvow) posted the video on Instagram on October 21, 2025.
All guests attending Miranda's bridal party had to follow a simple rule. As soon as they arrived, they were expected to place flowers on an empty seat that the bride had reserved specially for her father. But the seat wasn't really empty; well, Miranda had put a picture of her late father with a 'reserved' signboard on it. The wedding guests loved the bride's idea, and as expected, followed the heartwarming request and honored her dad just how she wanted. Miranda's heartfelt gesture is a reminder of how special dads are, especially to their daughters.

For another daughter, Elisabeth Linde, her father was equally important, and she couldn't even imagine not having him at her wedding. So when she realized that her terminally ill father wouldn't be able to attend her special day, she brought the wedding to him. Linde was supposed to get married on June 4, 2023, but she rescheduled it to a day prior at Manhattan’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where her father was admitted, the New York Post reported. The bride shared the emotional moment on TikTok (now deleted), capturing how she walked down the aisle in a hospital hallway. Linde called it "The saddest and the happiest day" of her life. Her father, Stuart Linde, was diagnosed with mesothelioma just before her wedding. As his health continued to decline, Linde realized every minute with him was precious, and hence she decided to get married at an NYC hospital so her dad could see her one last time before he died.

A father's presence at his daughter's wedding is too precious. And perhaps that's why we have so many traditions involving fathers. In fact, a YouGov survey found that 71% of Americans love the father-daughter dance at weddings. Moreover, they found that 68% of Americans approve of the tradition of fathers giving away the brides. Miranda might not have had the chance to have her dad attend her wedding physically, but she made sure to include him in her most special day. People loved Miranda's idea of including her dad at her wedding, even though he wasn't there physically. Reacting to it, @1315pb commented, "You know she made her daddy so proud! What a beautiful sentiment and acknowledgment." Similarly, @emmastewart_18 shared, "I did this for my uncle's mom at his wedding; it is such a beautiful thing." @karengonzales7239 wrote, "I know how much you miss your dad, and this was very special." @nyre, who loved the way the bride honored her late dad, exclaimed, "What a beautiful idea!" Echoing the sentiments, @nadiajamal_ commented, "It got me tearing up. So sweet."
