Many couples missed their newlywed first dances because of the COVID-19 pandemic and they gave them another chance to have that special moment.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many couples had to either postpone their wedding or cut on some wedding rituals like their first dance together. According to social distancing protocols, a celebration with their loved ones took the biggest hit.
However, recently a bride and her groom did something special to compensate for all the lost time. The couple offered the dance floor to pandemic wedding couples so they could have their first dance. The moment of many first dances was captured and shared by husband-wife team Henry and Joanie of Henjo Films (@henjofilms), a Toronto-based wedding videography company. The video clip went viral procuring almost seven million likes.
The video clip went viral procuring almost seven million likes and was captioned "For all the couples that got married during the pandemic. How thoughtful is this bride?" The bride says in the video, "The last thing I wanted to do tonight, which is really important to me because we almost didn't have a wedding. There are many couples in this room who got married during the pandemic and did not get the opportunity to have their first dance on a dance floor."
She added, "I would like all of our pandemic wedding couples to please rise. If you have gotten married over the pandemic and have not had to do this, now is your chance, Let's please all take a moment for our newlyweds." She prompted the couples to take the dance floor before the couples glistened with wide smiles and swayed away with their partners.
Viewers on TikTok expressed a lot of appreciation for this selfless gesture. "The fact that they took time out of their special day to do this for the other couples melts my heart! More people should be like this," commented @louiseemson. "I have tears in my eyes cause of how even though it was her day she did such a nice thing for all the couples for them to have their first dance," said @courtneylewis1909.
"We talk about bridezillas a lot but not the brides who are amazing, this was beautiful, what a kind soul," added @my_hidden_beauty1.
While sharing the clip on Instagram, @henjofilms, wrote, "Filming this moment really brought home the surreal times that we just experienced and lived through so recently! Thank you Marika and Sha for sharing a piece of your special day with people that did not get to have the first dance they dreamed of when they began their wedding planning journey. Their reactions say it all! The most unexpected and kind gesture we have seen in a long while!"
Some others also shared ways that newlyweds have invited others to share in special moments during wedding celebrations. "My daughter and SIL did this for me and her stepdad at their wedding," shared @tiffanyhugohorsle60. "We did this with our best man and maid of honor. They didn't get one so we gave ours to them," @overit111.
