Bride apologizes to single ladies at her wedding while highlighting a major oversight in tradition

Most people consider their wedding to be the happiest day of their life. It is a day when everyone they love and care for is around them, celebrating their precious moments together. Your best friends and family are at your wedding party and you get to share some priceless moments with them. However, one bride used the occasion to call attention to the fact that we often do not include or honor our mothers enough in the festivities. A video of the bride, Briana Coffey (briana__coffey), shared by Janene's Bridal–who goes on TikTok by @janenesbridalboutique–shows Coffey talking about how she did something unusual at her wedding to ensure that her mother felt special.

This heartwarming video starts with the bride on the stage, dressed in a beautiful white gown and her hair tied up in a messy bun, giving a speech. She begins by mentioning how we have nothing special in our weddings for our mothers. She says, "During the entire wedding, there's nothing for mom." She elaborates her stance by saying how the bride's father gets to walk her down the aisle and give her away. She mentions how the father is also the first to see the bride, or like she said, "gets the first look." But that's all about the father of the bride. Fathers also get a father-daughter dance at their little girl's wedding. Even the parents of the groom have some significant roles to play in weddings. 

She mentioned how the mother of the groom has a part in the wedding as she gets to walk the groom down the aisle and share a first dance. The father of the groom also often gives a speech to the newlyweds. While it's wonderful that these people get to be such significant parts of the wedding, like the bride said, "...but there's nothing for mom." She explains how mothers give everything they have in every way possible to their kids and yet have no role to play in their daughter's wedding. In her words, "Mothers dedicate their lives, bodies and souls to their kids."

And that's why the bride decided to do something special for her mother. Apologizing to all the single women at her wedding, she said, "So to all the single ladies out there, I am sorry, but I will not be doing a bouquet toss." Before the crowd could understand or guess what would happen next, the bride continued, "Instead, I am dedicating my bouquet to my beautiful mother." The video then shows the bride walking down the stage to her mother who's already crying after hearing the speech, and handing her the bouquet. The mother and daughter then hug and click some pictures filled with memories that will last them a lifetime.

The comment section was extremely impressed by this turn of events and applauded the bride. @boricua_linda said, "This is why both parents should walk the aisle. With the groom and the bride." As a single mom, this was so hard to see my ex, who wasn't in my daughter's life, get all the credit at the wedding while I sat like a guest." @fortunatelyone shared, "I attended a Korean ceremony at a wedding recently, it was beautiful how they honored the mothers!"
