Brad Pitt made quite a statement as he showed up in a skirt during the press tour of his movie "Bullet Train." The actor wore the knee-length skirt to the premiere of the action comedy at Berlin’s Zoo Palast theater on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Pitt also showed off his leg tattoos in the process. He donned a brown and blush ensemble including a half-buttoned shirt, a grouping of statement necklaces and motorcycle boots. The "Fight Club" actor appeared to be the only actor dressed for the weather as a record heatwave sweeps through Europe. Pitt even made a joke about it. When asked why he chose to wear the skirt for the premiere, HuffPost reported that he simply responded, “The breeze."

It also evoked memories of his character in "Troy" where he donned a skirt-like dress on the battlefield. At the time, he wore a series of pants-less outfits while promoting the classic in 2004. He even predicted skirts would be a rage among men that summer. “Men will be wearing skirts by next summer,” he said, reported British Vogue. “That’s my prediction and proclamation. The film answers to both genders. We were going for realism and Greeks wore skirts all the time then.”

While Pitt might be the epitome of masculinity to many, it has never dictated his fashion style. In an iconic Rolling Stone photo spread in 1999, the actor wore a variety of minidresses. The actor has always maintained that he is driven by comfort and prefers not to be boxed into a certain kind of style. “If I have a style, it’s no style,” he told Esquire in 2021. “I like monochrome, without it being a uniform. I like simplicity. I like the details in the stitching, the way it feels. If anything, that’s the only divining rod I have. It’s led by comfort.” The "Once upon a time in Hollywood" actor also said he finds it exhausting to follow trends. “I don’t want to look ostentatious, but if you come close, you notice. I like how the lining feels. It’s those details that are important to me. And I despise billboards; I just don’t want to be billboard,” he said.

He wore a green ensemble for the "Bullet Train" promotion in London while switching to orange for the movie's press tour in Paris. Brad Pitt stars as an assassin who runs afoul other trained killers aboard a train traveling through Japan. The movie is directed by David Leitch of  “John Wick” fame. Some of the stars in the film include Sandra Bullock, Bad Bunny, Joey King, Hiroyuki Sanada, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Logan Lerman, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, and Michael Shannon.

Kid Cudi, Lil Nas X, Pete Davidson, Dan Levy, Russell Westbrook, and Lewis Hamilton are some of the popular men who have donned a skirt recently. Non-binary fashion has been in vogue with Harry Styles getting a lot of credit for mainstreaming it after landing a cover of Vogue. Billy Porter has always been comfortable in wearing gowns and skirts and said many chose to ignore his own journey. "I changed the whole game. I. Personally. Changed. The. Whole. Game. And that is not ego, that is just fact. I was the first one doing it and now everybody is doing it. I created the conversation and yet Vogue still put Harry Styles, a straight white man, in a dress on their cover for the first time," he said, reported Buzzfeed News.

Billy Porter recalled being inspired by the women in his family. "My grandmother, my mom — they were always stylish. I grew up loving fashion, but there was a limit to the ways in which I could express myself. When you’re black and you’re gay, one’s masculinity is in question," he said. "When I landed a role in Kinky Boots, the experience really grounded me in a way that was so unexpected. Putting on those heels made me feel the most masculine I’ve ever felt in my life. It was empowering to let that part of myself free," he said.
