Boy's heartfelt reaction after seeing his dad at surprise reunion moves the internet to tears

Distance makes the heart grow fonder and the reunion deeper. We have all been in situations where our loved ones have had to live at a distance that makes the heart heavy and the eyes teary. However, the time spent away builds up the emotional rhythm for the moment when the reunion with our precious ones finally happens. This feeling was beautifully captured in a viral Instagram video posted by @nofuetorni and @tornicleto2.0 where a child can be seen getting his hair trimmed by a man who soon backs away as the boy’s father takes his place.

Unaware that it’s the father who’s trimming his hair now, the two are seen having a conversation about the boy’s father in Spanish. The man asks him, “How’s your dad? When is he coming? Do you talk to him a lot?” The boy responds teary-eyed, "I don't know; he always says he's coming but never comes.” The boy can be seen pinching his eyes to keep his tears from running down and soon he realizes that it’s actually his father cutting his hair! The boy jumps from his chair overwhelmingly and starts bawling out of emotions. The youngster then extends his arms and is gripped into a tight hug by his father, who lifts him up high and happily. The boy continues crying in disbelief and the father can be seen caressing his head to calm him down while the rest of the family surrounds the father-son duo. The reunion truly gives goosebumps to the viewers and the warm embrace of the two got the comments section reaching for tissues.

Instagram users commented on their reactions and expressed their feelings about the reunion. @zeomunoz said (translated from Spanish), “Here I am crying... Let's just be honest.” Another user, @arq.stephanyplacencioa, said, “This melts my heart; it's so important for children to have their parents present.” The video was posted on Reddit and went viral where users showed their love for the wonderful reunion moment. u/Ocelot859 said, “I'm not crying, you are. You're the one crying, not me. I am not crying right now. Shut up, you're crying too.” 

The users also made guesses on why the father didn’t visit the son sooner. u/laffy_taffy329 commented, “This is so sad that his dad doesn’t show up after saying he would.” This was responded to by u/Ocelot859, “The dad could have been working overseas to support the family financially (as first-world countries pay better and have a stronger currency), he could be in the military, or he could've been on a long employment assignment for the job (again supporting his family), amongst many other possible reasons he was gone for the betterment of his family long-term or due to extenuating circumstances. Why do people just assume things without context?” The love that the two share and the effort on the part of the father to make the union a surprising one deserve appreciation.
