Every girl dreams of a perfect proposal, but only a few get to live the dream. Six months into dating, Ian Corcoran (@_iancorcoran) knew he would end up marrying Jessica Geralis (@jessicageralis), and so, he began planning his proposal three years before it happened, PEOPLE reported.

In 2022, Ian surprised his girlfriend, Jessica, with the first love letter. Jessica was obviously over the moon, but she didn't think much about the first word starting with W. Ian knew his girlfriend would figure out what he was trying to do, so he gave the remaining love letters to Jessica out of order so she didn't know the letters would end up being part of his detailed proposal. Every time Ian wrote the love letters, he would keep a copy for himself. Once he drafted the final letter, he framed all 14 copies and organized them in their proper order. Ian enlarged the first letters, which, put together, read, "W-I-L-L Y-O-U M-A-R-R-Y M-E."

"He first handed me the final letter and gave me the frame, and I realized he signed the last letter saying, 'Love, your fiancé,' instead of 'Love, Ian,' and when I looked up he was on one knee, and I immediately burst into tears," Jessica recalled. The moment was truly special, as Jessica explained, "I think we both blacked out a little because neither of us remembers what he said; we were just both crying, and he put my ring on."

In her Instagram post, the woman confessed that Ian, her best friend, spent three years sending her handwritten letters, and it was the final letter that she said 'yes' to. The surprise proposal didn't end there; in fact, after proposing to Jessica, Ian took her to their friend's apartment, where he had arranged for an engagement party

Notably, Ian and Jessica grew up 15 minutes away from each other, yet met only after they attended a mutual friend's party in 2021. The two felt the spark almost immediately, and Jessica made the first move. "I asked him to be my boyfriend, and we did long distance for a little over a year before I moved to San Diego with him in September 2022," she recalled.

When Jessica turned to Instagram to share her beautiful proposal story, her heartfelt post received an overwhelming response on social media. Meanwhile, reacting to the story, @gerrikleponis commented, "So happy for you both! What a beautiful love story… a proposal full of romance and love!" Similarly, a man, who goes by @colt45hess on Instagram, said, "Getting my pen and paper to take notes from Ian! Congrats!" A user on the platform, @lkiesel1, wrote, "Ok, that letter thing is too damn sweet. Congrats, Jess — wishing you two all the very best!"

Echoing the sentiments, @colbyblazer commented, "This has to be the best proposal ever! So happy for you!" Another user, @hereislanaa, wrote, "This is the cutest proposal ever. Congratulations to both of you!" On the other hand, a person, @samm_clifton_, wrote, "I can’t attach an audio of me screaming, so you’ll have to take my word for it!"
