Boyfriend surprises his artist girlfriend with the most wholesome proposal

Proposals are a core memory for many couples. It is usually the next "big step" in a relationship and that's why they try to make it more extravagant. However, a couple on TikTok have proved that proposals need not be grand to be memorable. Karmies–who goes by @karmiess on TikTok–shared the creative way her boyfriend proposed to her. For context, the woman, Kira, is an artist. The couple was filming a video where the other person had to guess what they had painted without looking at it. Kira had painted a portrait of her boyfriend, Connor, with a serious-looking face.

He showed the painting to the camera and held it beside his head. It looked quite accurate. Kira asked him to guess what the painting was. "Is it me smiling?" Kira said no as she laughed. Connor chuckled nonetheless and asked if he could look at the painting. After looking at it, he said it was really good. "I see why it took so damn long," he commented. "Hey!" the woman chided, but then he continued to praise the painting and say how incredible the painting was.

Then came Kira's turn to see what Connor had painted for her. She handed over the camera and showed the painting that said, "Will you marry me?" with a ring drawn on it. She was completely clueless about what was to come. With a big smile, she asked if it was a picture of her smiling. He agreed with her and told her she could have a look. Her mouth was open in surprise as she saw what it actually was. She wrote, "Well, that was unexpected." She simply exclaimed, "Connor? Are you kidding me?" The boyfriend admitted that he was totally serious about it and it wasn't a prank or joke.

The couple put the camera on the table, facing the roof, while sharing an emotional moment. They exchanged "I love you" and Connor asked his girlfriend to put on the ring and see if it fit. She still couldn't believe what was happening was real. The boyfriend remarked that he was still shaking. "Oh, you were afraid to show it," Kira questioned. She confirmed once again if all of it was a joke. "I'm dead serious," Connor declared.

He asked if she liked the ring. Kira warmly said, "It's beautiful." The man pointed out that they might have to fix the sizing of the ring. While she added that she wasn't even dressed for this. "That's why I was telling you to get dressed," Connor revealed. The video's caption read, "Life is full of beautiful surprises." Kira finally showed off her ring to the camera and jumped in excitement. People took to the comments to celebrate the couple's big moment.
