When planning a birthday surprise, most people opt for gifts, romantic dinners, or even extravagant getaways. But animator and content creator Bryson McBee (@Brysonmcbee on Instagram) took a different approach—he created a custom video game for his girlfriend. On her special day, Bryson unveiled the heartfelt surprise, bringing both Meg and millions of viewers to tears. A widely shared video captured the couple playing the game together, navigating a virtual world where they starred as the main characters.

Yes! You read that right. To make Megan, aka Meg, feel special on her 25th birthday, Bryson decided to build an animated game from scratch. The play session began with a hybrid assistant and voice guide welcoming Meg with nothing more than a floating human head. Apparently, it turned out to be Bryson, and it had a mustache—just like his. “Sorry, you’ve got to see me like this,” the animated character's head jokingly remarked, prompting Meg to laugh out loud. Notably, to win the game, she had to complete a series of challenges and ultimately find Bryson’s missing body to put his virtual head back on it. The plot thrilled the birthday girl, who excitedly confirmed, “No! Wait. Are you serious? This is so cool!”

Following this, the voice guide introduced Meg to her first task, which was to open a door. "Huh! The door is closed too. Maybe there’s some challenge or puzzle," it quipped. Meg responded out of sheer curiosity, “Oh! I have to find a puzzle.” The woman seemed excited to open the mysterious doorway, which led her to a bowling arena. Upon reaching the alley, she realized that she had to throw her boyfriend’s virtual head toward the pins as part of the plan.

The entire setup left her in stitches as she progressed with a strike, knocking down all the pins in one shot. To complete the next level, Meg needed to get closer to a headless body, moving on its own at the far-off other end. As she threw the head, aiming at the body, it accidentally fell into the dark zone. “And look who jumped down to join us! My body,” said the voice guide, indicating that Meg successfully completed the level. At this point, another door appeared, inviting them to walk through it. When virtual Meg tried to open the door, the head she was holding began acting gentlemanly, suggesting, "Please allow me."

As shown in the heartwarming play session video, the birthday girl ultimately found her cake with a message: “Surprise, Happy Birthday Megan.” “I know you were getting anxious about your brain getting all ‘fully developed.’ Meg, what if your brain gets all wrinkly and you start liking Jordan Peterson again?” the voice guide ended on a humorous note, transforming the screen into a beautiful-looking garden. Meanwhile, the nearly three-minute footage managed to draw widespread attention on social media, with people lauding Bryson for his fascinating birthday idea. “Meg was pretty anxious about her frontal lobe fully developing this year, so I made her a little video game about it,” the animator continued with his tongue-in-cheek humor in the caption. Among the countless reactions, “This is the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my whole life,” @xxcarnagecatxx commented. “The bowling ball had me cracking up,” @byminchoco added.
