Most birth moms who give their children up for adoption have quite a strong reason behind their decision. Inadequate finances, incorrect timing and the emotional or physical inability to raise children well are a few of them. However, more often than not, people do not get to hear the birth mom's side of the story behind such a life-changing decision. So when a mom, Hannah Mongie, recorded a video for her son before giving him up for adoption and posted it on YouTube, it left the internet in tears. In the video, the mom explained to her baby the reason behind her decision to place him with a certain family.

The mom began the video by introducing the baby, Taggart Kaden Marsh. "This is for you, Tag. I made this video so you know how much I love you," Mongie expressed. She told her infant son how she met his dad in 2013. "We were writing while he was on his mission and he came home in April of 2015," she recalled. She recounted how they dated for a while before she found out she was pregnant. "He loved you so much from the very very beginning," Mongie told her son. She even told him the story of how she heard his heartbeat for the first time during her eight-week appointment.

"Daddy Kaden wasn't there. He was in class. So I texted it to him and he ran out. He was so excited to hear it," Mongie shared. "From then on, he couldn't be happier. He was hoping for a boy so that he could teach him baseball." The mom broke down as she said, "Two days after he heard your heartbeat, his heart stopped." The woman had a hard time processing the fact that she might have to place her baby with another family after her boyfriend Kaden died. "You were my last piece of Kaden," she continued tearfully. "One day, I woke up and I just knew that you were supposed to be with someone else." She recollected how she looked for families and found one she thought would be perfect for her son.

However, the family informed her that another birth mom had chosen them. So she went on adoption.com and eventually found Tag's parents, Brad and Emily Marsh. "They were beyond anything I could have asked for," Mongie shared. The mom loved the couple. In two weeks, she told them that she wanted them to adopt Taggart. "Over time, me and your mom, Emily, became really good friends. She is one of my best friends now," she continued. "My entire pregnancy, I was waiting for the two days I would get to spend with you," Mongie revealed. She made the video in the final hour before her son was adopted. "I made this decision purely out of love. Because I knew what you needed. Which is a mommy and a daddy," she told him.

She made a video instead of writing a letter so that in the future, her son could see for himself how much his mom loved him. She also told him how excited his late father was to have him and how the couple had thought of names for a while. "I want you to know that your mommy Emily loves you too, even though she hasn't met you yet," Mongie disclosed. "This is an OPEN adoption. I get to see him all the time thanks to his wonderful mommy and daddy," the woman revealed in the video's caption.
