This brother believes that early 2000s tracks are timeless, but his embarrassed sister doesn’t share the same sentiment.
Siblings love to embarrass each other at every opportunity, but it only proves how strong their bond really is. Sometimes, brothers tasked with picking up their younger sisters from school have the most fun pranking them. A video shared by an anonymous user on Reddit captured one such brother's antics and grabbed the community's attention. In the brief clip, we see a young girl leaving her school and heading to her brother's car as he blasts Huey's "Pop, Lock and Drop" through the speakers. Surrounded by other students, the sister immediately tells her brother to stop playing the music, clearly embarrassed.
Her brother pays her no mind as she slides into the passenger seat. Clearly unbothered, he continues his antics the next time he goes to pick her up from school by blasting Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss" on the music system. The next clip captures a similar scene as the sister hauls her bag into the car, making a face to express her annoyance. Nevertheless, her brother persists with the tradition of playing his favorite 2000s tracks. In the background, a few kids seem to enjoy the music streaming from the car, which features Gwen Stefani's 2004 hit "Hollaback Girl."
In the following clips, the sister seems to have accepted her fate, realizing that her brother will continue playing 2000s music as long as he's on duty to pick her up from school. Over time, he blasts D4L's "Laffy Taffy" and LMFAO's "Shots," causing a few passerby school kids to laugh. On his sister's last day of middle school, he greets her by playing "Get Low" by Lil Jon. Needless to say, every millennial would start jamming to the tracks being played. The Reddit community applauded the harmless prank, noting that it will likely become a core memory for his sister.
u/mamamiax94 shared, "This made me smile wider than a donkey grinning. I remember my older brother doing this to me in elementary school and looking back, I cherish those memories. I learned when I got older that our dad was also in on the pranks and he helped my brother make the playlists. The two jokesters of the family. I miss them both so much." u/Raspbers noted, "I just find it crazy how you can literally see her getting older between the first and last video. She goes from looking like my 10-year-old niece to a straight teenager." u/PerceptionFar8400 recalled, "I’m dying. I used to do this to my sister when I had to pick her up from middle school. I would blast the late '80s and '90s rap and R&B. Her middle school was right next to my high school and would hate it."
u/SuperPeytendo quipped, "Sometimes I do the same thing with my sister but it's classic '70s/'80s/'90s pop, rock and metal. She's actually recently told me that she's added a couple of songs to her playlist that she heard while riding along with me and that she had one of the songs I usually play, stuck in her head. It's pretty fun." u/DaciaSandero1 commented, "My dad picked me up for school one time playing 'Rollin' by Limp Bizkit on full blast. Needless to say, we were headbanging all the way home." u/thatguy01001010 added, "I agree it's cute. But I'm still confused. Are 2000s hits embarrassing? It's still rap and hip-hop, and I don't think modern hits are even all that different other than who's popular."
