Bradley Cho (@bradjcho), a man from Chicago, began working for DoorDash to buy his girlfriend a $6,500 ring. However, things took an ugly turn when his boss humiliated him for that in front of the entire office. He not only mocked him for trying so hard, but he also made a very dismissive remark about the employee's girlfriend. But here's the twist — unlike most, Cho remained calm, and his unexpectedly loving response left his boss embarrassed. He recalled the incident on March 5.

Cho has been documenting his entire journey on Instagram. And as he shared it with his colleagues, his boss started questioning him. In fact, he accused him of buying 'fake' followers on social media. Moreover, he asked if Cho really needed to buy such an expensive ring only to propose to his girlfriend. "What does your girlfriend bring to the table to deserve such a ring?" the boss asked.

Taken aback, Cho paused, and every little moment spent with his girlfriend flashed in front of his eyes. He realized the questions weren't coming from a good place. Instead, they were only intended to mock his relationship. Cho could have stooped down to his boss's level, but that wouldn't have made his girlfriend proud. So, he stayed calm and changed everything about the moment.

"She doesn't need to bring anything to the table. She is the table," Cho explained. He also recalled how he once took out his work frustration on his girlfriend. And instead of leaving, she said something that changed his perspective on love. "Loving someone isn't about what they can do for you; it's about what you can do for them," she told him, and ever since, he hasn't stopped implementing it in their relationship.

While gifts or extravagant gestures don't really justify your love for your partner, they do make your better halves feel special. And people, especially Americans, have been taking it seriously. Take, for example, a Harris Poll found that 92% of people who have ever been in a relationship buy gifts regularly for their partners.

While 28% buy gifts once every month, 30% of respondents confirmed doing so several times a year, and 19% engage in gifting only during special occasions like an anniversary or Valentine's Day. "35% of men give gifts to their significant other once per month or more often when in a relationship, compared to only 21% of women," the poll revealed.

Meanwhile, netizens were in awe seeing a man stand up for his women in such an empowering way. For example, @belterrajewelry commented, "Your parents did such a great job raising you. You handled it great! Wishing you more and more success. What the director doesn’t realize is that the internet has a space for everyone. Plus, genuine sweet accounts like this are very rare."

@girluprooted wrote, "I recently heard, 'Marriage isn't hard. Life is hard. Marry someone who knows how to face hardship with you.' As someone who has been married for 14 years, you both have the right mindset stepping into the marriage." @savannahacraven shared, "He is jealous because you are a provider man and he isn't. Women shouldn’t be expected to 'bring something to the table.' You are a true man, and you both are so blessed."
