Best friends who got pregnant at the same time will now become grandmas together

Strong friendships come out of pure love for each other and there are no added reasons and that's why they last for a long time. And as those people age, they remember the precious memories and continue to grow together. That's what happened to best friends Toni Wells and Beth Thomas who also became pregnant at the same time in 1994. And to everyone's surprise, their children Luke and Ashley married each other four years ago and now, Wells and Thomas will soon be becoming grandmas together. 

In a TikTok video posted by Wells' daughter Ashley (@ashwellsthomas), the friends can be seen posing together in old pictures and the overlay text reads, "POV: You and your BFF of 30+ years are going to be sharing the same grandbaby." Then the next clip shows the couple revealing to their parents that they are pregnant. Thomas and Wells can be seen opening a box with the pregnancy test and a pair of booties along with a note written on the flap. The mothers couldn't hold back their happiness and one started shouting out of joy while the other said, "No way." Then the video shows pictures from the hospital where they were together during delivery and many other sweet memories including Wells holding Luke and Ashley. In the following clip, Thomas says, "Our babies are having babies." It ends with a clip in which Wells is seen holding Luke in her hand at the hospital while she is pregnant with Ashley. 

The video gained 12.2 million views and is captioned, "A day they have dreamed about for years! This little babe will have the best grandparents ever!" People on the social media platform loved the fact the two best friends had come so far. @kmcobb92 commented, "Your MIL loved you before you were even born how special." @brookented wrote, Omg, they hit the jackpot. Their babies fell in love and had babies!? Best friend goals! Now I just need a best friend." @carolinforreal shared, "Not me sending this to my BFF before remembering we married brothers." @chisaidit said, "Imagine sharing a grandbaby with your best friend omg this baby is going to be so loved."

Talking to TODAY, Thomas shared that they spoke about their children getting married from day one. Both Ashley and Luke are now 29 but they weren't childhood sweethearts. “We viewed each other like siblings," Ashley said. “Our families traveled together and spent holidays together. I considered Luke’s sisters my sisters.” It was only after they parted ways for college that Luke began to have feelings for Ashley. She also scrolled through his social media for signs of a love interest. In 2016, he confessed his love for Ashley but she was terrified about how things would work out. The moms also began to notice the changes. “The way they greeted each other was just totally different than normal," Thomas said. “She actually jumped into his arms.”

Luke finally proposed to Ashley in 2019 and the following year, the two tied the knot. “It’s so funny because our sisters used to stage mock weddings. They’d put Luke in a tuxedo and make us kiss,” Ashley said. “They wished it into existence!” However, Ashley is now 19 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and she said that her mother-in-law manifested it. “She was asking like every week, ‘Are you having a baby soon?’” Ashley shared.
