Promposals are becoming more creative every year. People are finding unusual yet heartwarming ways to ask their partners to prom. They put in a lot of effort and planning towards making these moments special and memorable. Jake Portella also wanted to give a beautiful surprise to his girlfriend. So, he decided to go the extra mile by asking Baseball star Bryce Harper from the Phillies team to help him, per MLB. The Haddonfield Memorial High School student was contemplating how to make the proposal more creative and fun, which is when he decided to take a leap of faith and went to Harper's house to ask if he would show up and help him. Portella revealed that his prom date was a big fan of the team and that Harper's presence would guarantee a positive answer.

He wanted to take some more time to make the traditional "Will you go to prom with me?" poster and requested Harper to show up for him. He heard the young man's request and asked him for his email ID so he could contact him. He said that he would see what could be done. Portella shared, "Then, as I was leaving, he calls me back and he's like, 'What if we just did it right now?'" At this moment, the youngster decided that he did not need the poster if Bryce Harper would accompany him for the proposal.

She takes a moment to process what is going on and then agrees to go to prom with Portella. The video concludes with Leonetti hugging both of them. People loved the baseball star's wholesome gesture and shared their thoughts in the comments section. @sweetp1067 said, "I could watch this all day! That poor kid when she went and hugged Harper first." @therealmustachecash pointed out, "Dad ready to go to prom too. He was so excited to meet Bryce."

Leonetti spoke to the media outlet and shared how she was shocked to see Bryce Harper standing there. She said, "I was just absolutely freaking out. I mean, this guy is the chosen one. I was just hysterical and immediately started crying. I just couldn't believe he was really there in front of me." Portella stated that he had no idea of what to expect when he approached Harper with his unconventional request. Harper was kind enough to help out and thought of it as "just helping a brother out." Both of these kids will probably not forget this prom proposal for a long time to come.
