In a world that is not so safe for women, it feels wonderful to know someone is out there who strives to protect and help. Bartender Rise Jumeade–who goes by @theofficialgworlsgirl on TikTok–is winning praise on social media for stepping up to protect women in potentially dangerous situations involving men. Jumeade, who works at a bar in Buffalo, New York, shared her go-to method for ensuring a woman's safety when she feels they might be at risk. In her video, which has garnered over 23 million views, Jumeade shows a very common scenario at bars and pubs.

In the staged video, Jumeade pretended that a man approached the bar and ordered a "double shot" of tequila or another such strong drink for a woman. "Yeah, fill her up," he tells Jumeade. Sensing the situation could lead to the woman getting too drunk, Jumeade discreetly hands her a glass of water instead. She winks at the woman, pouring the drink under the bar so the man can't see and hands the glass of water to the woman, making it look like she's serving alcohol.

The bartender explained her actions in the comments. She said that she steps in to protect women when she suspects a man is trying to "fill women's cups up to get them drunk to take advantage." People praised Jumeade for her actions. "To any bartender I may come across, don't give me a drink until I come and ask," commented @jasmeiir. @sarabobara14 added, "I always look at the girl and only her and say 'Is that what YOU want to drink,' completely ignore the guy."

"As a bartender myself, I went out and this happened to me and the male bartender had the audacity to literally pour four shots after I shook my head in a no," said @kamyiabevents. @jensule420, who has been a bartender for years, chimed in: "I'm a mid-90s bartender... any man ordering a double for a lady and none for him was a red flag. We always asked the girl to confirm." @carolineftsc shared, "My best friend is a bartender and going to her work while she's on is so fun to watch how y'all move so well and see everything."

In another story of bartenders being heroes, a Florida bartender is being widely praised online after a woman named Trinity Allie shared how his quick thinking saved her and her friend from being harassed by an aggressive stranger. Max Gutierrez, the bartender at No Vacancy in St. Petersburg, discreetly handed Allie a note disguised as a receipt. It read, "If this guy is bothering you, put your ponytail on your other shoulder, and I will have him removed. He's giving me the creeps." Gutierrez took action when the man wouldn't leave the two women alone. He eventually had to loudly confront the man, demanding he leave the bar. Allie posted a photo of Gutierrez holding the clipboard after the incident to show her appreciation.
