Barack Obama has been living his best life in Hawaii this holiday season, enjoying his annual vacation playing golf and paddleboarding while reminding us how nice it was to have a good looking President in the White House. The father-of-two sent the internet swooning last week when pictures of him nailing the hot surfer look emerged online. The 58-year-old was spotted rocking a pair of dark-colored swim trunks on Thursday as he enjoyed a paddleboard ride in his home state. And while he is said to have lost his balance and fallen off the board a couple of times, it was nothing compared to the tumbles our hearts took gawking at the chiseled bod of the 44th President of the United States.
According to Fox News, the Obamas have been vacationing in Oahu since December 16. In addition to tackling the Pacific waters, the former President was also spotted playing golf a couple of times during his holiday which gave us adorable photographs of the father-of-two hugging babies and being all cute. He also made sure to spend time with his family, dining out with the former first lady Michelle at local restaurant Ya-Ya's Chophouse and Seafood on Thursday, reports PEOPLE.
The restaurant took to Instagram on Friday to share a group photo featuring a smiling Obama, writing, "Our chophouse just got a whole lot more presidential 🇺🇸Last night, we were incredibly honored to welcome @barackobama and his family into our restaurant where he dined on Chef Bo's famous dishes! Mr. President, you will ALWAYS have a seat at our table. #ComeBackSoon" While the former first couple was also joined by Obama's sister Maya Soetoro-Ng and her family, the dinner did not include Malia and Sasha, who according to Hawaii News Now, left the islands after spending Christmas with their parents.
After the Obamas dropped off their youngest daughter Sasha at college last year, Michelle opened up to PEOPLE about becoming empty-nesters. "We've rediscovered all these little pockets of time, just me and Barack, that for a couple of decades have been filled with school events or sports practices. We’re taking full advantage of this new normal, simply spending time with each other and remembering what brought us together in the first place. Sometimes I’ll get a glimpse of him and just go, 'Hey you! Where have you been for 21 years?' It’s been fun. The tough part, of course, is missing our girls. It’s an adjustment to see each other for a weekend here, a holiday break there, but the moments we do spend together feel extra special because of it," the 55-year-old revealed.
During his multi-country trip to Asia with the Obama Foundation in December, Obama spoke about how he balances spending time with his family while also being one of the most powerful figures in the world today. "On my deathbed, I am confident I will not remember any bill I passed. I will not remember any speech I gave, any crowds. I won’t be thinking about the inauguration. I will be thinking about holding hands with my daughters and taking them to a park or seeing them laugh while they’re playing in the water. That is going to be the thing that lasts," he said.
