Barack Obama had only one question he wanted an immediate answer to when he assumed office as the 44th president of the United States. Well, it wasn't related to politics at all; in fact, it had nothing to do with his personal life, either. Obama, surprisingly, was more interested in knowing about the aliens. In a recent interview with Brian Tyler Cohen, the politician was asked if he believes 'aliens are real, and his response has stunned all conspiracy theorists.

Obama looked confident when he said aliens are real, but he hasn't seen them ever. While he has no doubts about their existence, Obama explained he doesn't know where they are. "They (aliens) are not being kept in Area 51. There is no underground facility unless there is this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States," he told Cohen. Next, Obama was asked what question he wanted an answer to when he first assumed his office as the US President, and he joked, "Where are the aliens?" The political leader's response went viral, so he had to post a clarification on his Instagram profile. Obama said he didn't elaborate on his answer on the show because it was supposed to be a quick response, but since it got a lot of attention, he's ready to explain further. "Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there's life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we've been visited by aliens are low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really," he wrote.

This isn't the first time a politician has spoken about aliens. Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president, had also reported seeing a UFO while he was the governor of Georgia in 1969. Moreover, Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, had a similar experience while flying near Bakersfield, California, as governor. He apparently saw a strange, fast-moving light that made them believe in extraterrestrial life. But the real question is, what do the scientists say? Well, in 2023, NASA completed a 15-month study of UFOs and said they don't have enough evidence to come to any solid conclusion. Thomas Zurbuchen from NASA told The Telegraph that he spoke to pilots and others who had reported seeing strange things in the sky. While there is no evidence, he believes they were honest in their confessions. Although he trusts their stories, Zurbuchen said what they saw could also be Chinese spy balloons, or natural phenomena, such as luminescent clouds.

Meanwhile, Obama's response created havoc on the Internet. For instance, @santaclaus94631 commented, "I mean, there’s a lot of space we haven't explored; there’s no way we’re the only living things in the whole galaxy." Similarly, @senpire_ wrote, "Why are you guys surprised? It's been confirmed time and time again by various sources. Yes, we haven't seen official pictures or anything, but several people in government positions or in related positions have said this numerous times." @samsonofspite commented, "He is essentially saying, 'People have seen things they call aliens, but we have no more proof than word of mouth,' which is something we've known for decades. A UFO is an 'unidentified flying object.' UFOs are real, but they are unidentified and aren't confirmed to be 'aliens.'
