Baby has the most adorable reaction to meeting her great-great-grandfather for the very first time

A familial bond is the most crucial relationship one can be blessed with and experience in a lifetime. It is no news that when babies are born and the family bloodline carries on, it’s one of the most overwhelming experiences for not just the mother but also for each member of the family that earns a new relationship in their lives. A heartwarming TikTok video posted by Juliet–who goes by @justlike_juliet–shows her daughter meeting her great-great-grandfather for the first time.

The adorable moment captured shows the old man gently rocking the baby in his arms and talking to her with nothing but immense joy reflected on his face. The mother captioned the video: “I’m glad she could meet her great-great-grandfather today and it was beautiful. Five generations.” The caption hit the core of the sentiment because how many of us really get a chance to have our great-great-grandfather be a part of any kind of new beginning in our lives?

The great-great-grandfather can be seen talking to the baby about her “laugh” and it almost seems like the baby can understand what her great-great-grandfather is saying as she laughs along and giggles with the old man. The old man has some peculiarly big ears and it makes the video all the more adorable, as observed by TikTok users in the comment section. @teeassm made a wonderful observation about the old man’s ears and said, “He looks like a Roald Dahl character.” Another user, @vinv0, made an interesting connection between big ears in his culture and said, “In my culture, big ears means a long life.. which looks to be true. What a special moment,” which might just be true considering that he is a great-great-grandfather and is fortunate to be holding his great-great-grandaughter in his arms in good health.

The adorable video went viral and gained over 5M views, with nearly 848K likes on TikTok. Also, it was shared on Reddit by u/Justin_Godfrey, where users commented what they thought about this aww-dorable moment of five generations. The old man’s big ears were a topic of discussion on Reddit as well, where u/Jprhino84 commented, “He seems to be a lovely man but his ears look like they’re part of a BFG costume." To this, u/malteaserhead jokingly chimed in and said, “Tone it down, he can hear you.” 

Some of the users related the moment to their own lives, where generations have been able to come together. u/RearExitOnly commented, “I have a 5 generation pic of my granddaughter, daughter, myself, my dad and my grandpa. I was the last of 3 kids. But I had my second daughter at 19, and my daughter had her first at 18. But my grandpa was probably about 10 years younger than this guy. Now, some of my great-grandkids are starting school, one is in 1st grade this year.
