Many of us lose the clarity of our vision as we get older. Unfortunately, some babies are born with visual impairments that require them to wear spectacles from a young age. A mom named Steph Mazzone-Meyer—who goes by @steph_mazzone on Instagram—often updates her audience with pictures and videos of her 11-month-old boy, Liam Frederick. The little one, who was born with impaired vision, regularly receives the community’s delight and warm comments about how cute he is.

It was clear that the toddler needed glasses much earlier in life. In a heartwarming video, his mom captured the moment when Frederick wore his first pair of spectacles. A man can be seen carefully adjusting the toddler's glasses, which, unlike adult specs, resembled swimmer’s goggles and had a strap at the back to keep them from slipping off. After the glasses were put on, Frederick took a moment to adjust to his clearer vision.

Then he looked around his surroundings with curious eyes as his mother cooed at him. The toddler's adorable reaction catapulted the video to gain over 34 million views. Frederick flashed a smile that was enough to melt millions of hearts as he saw the world around him clearly for the first time. According to Momtastic, Frederick received his pair of blue glasses from Williams Eye Works, which is located in Staten Island, New York. Meyer and her husband Rick began posting about Frederick's journey right after his birth. They also celebrated his new milestone of turning 11 months old in another Instagram post

The adorable little Frederick was also enrolled by his mom as a contender in a Baby of the Year contest. According to its press release, the fundraiser Colossal joined forces with Baby2Baby Board Member Jessica Alba for the competition in support of the non-profit. "Everyone knows Liam is the #1 baby in our hearts. We're asking our loved ones to put pen to paper and vote for our bundle of joy as the next Baby of The Year," Meyer captioned in one of her Instagram posts along with a picture of her son. People online flooded the comment section to compliment the toddler's new look with the glasses.

@_maryshae commented, "You just know those parents are crying big tears." @ran.marie questioned, "How do you get an accurate RX for an infant? Seems like it’s guesswork." A doctor, @dr.marymack replied to the comment and explained, "It’s a light reflex we look for in the pupil! We use a special instrument and change the lenses depending on how the light looks inside the pupil. Hope this helps." @donaldnewage gushed, "Bro was like, who are these people, then he smiled and said, 'Oh, this is what mom looks like.'" @georgebabcock383 added, "Amazing. The sheer joy of the reaction. The ones hearing the mother's voice for the first time after receiving hearing aids are astonishing as well."
