Did Sabalenka manifest her proposal? The celebrity's 'joking' speech came true in a matter of weeks.

Some people swear by manifestation, i.e., believing that speaking something into the universe can somehow bring it closer to reality. Others chalk those moments up as pure coincidence. However, every now and then, we all come across a situation that blurs the line between the two. That may be exactly what happened to tennis star Aryna Sabalenka after a comment she made roughly 2 months ago, on January 11, while accepting the trophy for her second consecutive Brisbane International title, as reported by @sportsish. She made a 'wish' for her boyfriend during her speech, and on March 3, it all came true.
As she thanked her team after the win, the world’s No.1 women’s tennis player also acknowledged her boyfriend, Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, who was watching from the stands. That’s when she smiled and added that she wished to soon call him “something else.” The crowd roared in laughter, thinking of it as just another playful remark.
It didn’t take long for that tiny comment to age like fine wine because a month and a half later, Frangulis proposed. Sabalenka also announced the news on her social media (@arynasabalenka) with a photo and the caption, “I can finally call him something else... FIANCÉ!” The proposal came just days before the BNP Paribas Open, catching Aryna Sabalenka completely off guard. She later joked that the “massive rock” on her finger kept distracting her during practice. Dressed casually and unaware of the plan, Sabalenka also admitted she spent half the time crying from surprise.
During the post-match press conference, when asked how she felt getting proposed to during her match, she replied, “I think it’s the first time that someone proposed during my match, and it was a very sweet moment. I was just trying not to start smiling because it’s very cute, and I believe they’re super happy right now, and I was just trying to keep focusing on my game.” For fans, the moment was nothing short of a manifestation of love coming true. So, whether it was timing or luck, her words from earlier now carried weight, making the proposal a little more magical and heartwarming.
Turns out manifestation has been more than a buzzword in the current scenario. Many have actually started believing in the laws of attraction, like it is “science”. In fact, according to figures compiled by Dreammaker, 73% of the world's population believes in the law of attraction today. Additionally, the hashtag #manifestation has 5 million posts, while the same has around 8.1 billion views over TikTok. Manifestation searches have even had a 400% rise over Google, as reported by British GQ.

The comment section was flooded with congratulations, and people saying, “how it just worked out fine.” @lovetubwon said, “Declare it with faith and witness its manifestation, congratulations”, while @graham_esther commented, “A man that listens”. However, some were quick to point out the absurdity of the event, noting that this should be done privately rather than putting pressure in such a large forum. For example, @life.stylee90 said, “If he really loves you, you would never have had to ask in public. This is like you pushed him, and then he had to do it because he had no option. Why do you want to pressure someone? You are a woman of worth.” Despite mixed feelings from some netizens, the internet was mostly pleased with the engagement and is now eagerly awaiting their grand nuptials.
