She'd almost missed her flight, but then, she spotted an army officer at the airport who saved the situation

Tia Lucia Walter (@tialuciawalter), a mom of two, arrived at the airport only thirty minutes before boarding. She was already running late, and the long queue at the luggage drop only added to her stress. Anxious, she asked her husband to carry one of their kids and run towards the gate while she planned on doing the same with the other kid. However, Walter soon realized she wasn't built to run with a toddler on her hip. So, she did something no one saw coming.
Walter approached an army person, handed him her toddler, and insisted he help them reach the flights without further questions. What followed later looked like a scene straight from a Hollywood blockbuster. Walter recalled her experience on her Instagram profile.
As per her video, Walter had almost missed her flight — in fact, when she saw her husband race towards the gate, she feared she would have to spend Christmas alone in Dallas. But, luckily, she spotted an uniformed army officer at the airport. Without a second thought, Walter ran towards him, handed him River, her daughter, and said, "I'm missing my flight. Can you run with me?" To her surprise, the man also didn't ask her any questions and followed her instructions like she was some general leading a mission.
Eventually, Walter made it to the gate and boarded her flight to Chicago. But her story didn't end there. As Walter's video continued to gain traction, she finally reconnected with Daniel, the army guy who helped her at the Dallas Love Field Airport.
Walter, also a content creator, invited Daniel to her podcast (Spill the Tia on YouTube), where he disclosed how it was the very first time he held a baby in his arms.
"I was holding her, and I could tell that she was feeling a little uncomfortable about it. I was just grabbing one of her legs, and her upper body, and she was almost about to cry. That made me panic, but then I knew my mission. I had to bring you to the gate before the boarding went off... I didn't have any other thoughts than that," he confessed.
Once a soldier, always a soldier — no matter if they are on duty or not, they're always ready to serve their country and their people. In fact, that's one of the biggest factors motivating their decision to join the army. For instance, a study found that the majority (88.3%) joined to serve their country and protect the people. Likewise, 74.5% joined the army because they wanted to experience army life, while 55.2% joined because they were inspired by friends in the force. "Participants also noted 'occupational' motivations, including overseas training and travel opportunities (75.3%) as well as to develop civilian job skills (64.4%)," the study noted.

Meanwhile, reacting to the wholesome story, @ashleyjulliet commented, "You can always count on our soldiers to never ask and just do and help anyone out. Gotta love our service men and women." @cej9008 shared, "This legit could be the start of a Hallmark movie. I know you are married after reading the caption and everything, but it could be turned into one with a single mom instead of someone married." Similarly, @raebourcier wrote, "This is amazing! It truly gave me chills… this soldier needs a spotlight! Always ready for duty!"
