Traveling to a foreign country requires extensive planning and research about the place. Sometimes, even a well-planned trip could go wrong as the lifestyle dynamics are distinctive for each country. What the social media travel influencers post might not be true all the time. So, expecting the worst and preparing for it could be an easier solution for a stress-free trip. Lexi Jordan (@millenniallex), an American content creator on TikTok, had a lot to say about her trip to Italy's Amalfi Coast which turned out to be cumbersome. Her video featuring her complaining about having to walk on the coast has amassed over 1.5 million views and is still going viral for all the wrong reasons.

The text overlay in Jordan's video said, "Don't get me wrong. I love it. But be serious. This is literal manual labor, not a vacation." Speaking from the Amalfi Coast on a July summer day, Jordan said, "Every single influencer and TikToker who put the Amalfi Coast on my 'For you page,' over the last 2 months deserves jail time." Though this sounded a bit harsh, she had her own reasons. "While they showed you the gorgeous coastlines and the cute little towns, what they didn't tell you were the disclaimers," pointed out the tourist.

Jordan shared how strenuous the journey to Amalfi was. "You have to fly into Naples. Then you have to take a train from Naples to Sorrento. Then you have to stand in 90-degree weather waiting to get on a ferry with all of your luggage," she said as a frustrated traveler who had been in Europe for 2 weeks then. After sailing to the Amalfi Coast with all the luggage lugged onto the ferry, reaching one's hotel at the city's high points is another challenge. "There are no streets here. There are no cars driving. So you have to walk up 160 stairs with all of your luggage to get to the top of this gorgeous area with these beautiful views," said Jordan.

But the tiresome transportation was not the only problem Jordan had with the Italian destination. Jordan mentioned, "And then also, all the power went out because the Amalfi Coast doesn't have the infrastructure to support this tourism." Clearly, the American tourist who was expecting to have a relaxing Euro summer didn't research enough about the location. She expressed her frustration and made some suggestions based on her experience for people who had Amalfi on their bucket list. "Honestly, my main takeaway is if you're going to come here don't make the same mistake I did. Go for at least a week and definitely not for two days," she captioned her video.

Her video received over 13K comments most of which were hilarious and sarcastic roasts of Jordan's silly complaints. Some people advised her to do better research before traveling to such remote places. "You should have done your research. It’s pretty common knowledge that you should pack light in Europe and will be doing a lot of walking/stairs," commented @vntucker87.

"Well, maybe they don't have the infrastructure to support this tourism because there wouldn't be tourism if there was all that infrastructure," pointed out @_juuliejaa_. "Most influencers I saw said to book a private driver - we did that from Naples to Positano and it was 100% worth it," suggested @natashajanic7. "Were you expecting an airport and a bunch of highways in a small old town?" quipped @alessandroqquartaa.
