Legendary American actress and eight-time Emmy award winner, Betty White, is known for several blockbuster films and television sitcoms. With her impeccable performances in shows like "The Golden Girls" and "Mary Tyler Moore Show," White paved the way for female comedians to express themselves fully and accept challenging roles. To honor her immense contributions to the world of entertainment, the United States Postal Service (USPS) recently announced plans to release a postage stamp in 2025 in her honor.

The new stamp features an illustrated digital portrait of the "Lake Placid" actress, specially created by Dale Stephanos (@dalestephanos), with the overall design by Greg Breeding, a USPS art director. Notably, the portrait was inspired by a 2010 photograph of the late actress by Kwaku Alston. "An icon of American television, Betty White (1922–2021) shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades. The comedic actor, who gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s, was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals," the USPS wrote in their official statement. The USPS stamp beautifully captures the essence of White's remarkable entertainment career, offering a unique tribute to her legacy.

Alongside White's beautifully curated picture, the Betty White stamp features the text, "Betty White, Forever USA." Meanwhile, Stephanos expressed his excitement in an Instagram post about the project. He wrote, "So excited to share the news that my Betty White stamp for the US Postal Service will be released soon. I would love to send a letter back to my 18-year-old self with this stamp on it and tell him that everything is going to be OK." People loved the new stamp and applauded the artist for his extraordinary work.

This time, the USPS decided to launch a variety of stamps highlighting their interest in a diverse range of subjects. “This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts. This year, we are continuing several of our popular series and commemorative anniversaries, while introducing some exciting new stamps. Additionally, several of our mail-use stamps, which are printed based on demand, will be updated this year,” said Lisa Bobb-Semple, Stamp Services director for the USPS. Moreover, the official informed that this was only a partial list and that additional stamps would be announced shortly.

The "You Again" actress passed away on December 31, 2021, just days before her 100th birthday. White’s death was confirmed by her long-time agent and friend, Jeff Witjas, who told the Associated Press, “I truly never thought she was going to pass away. She meant the world to me as a friend. She was the most positive person I’ve ever known." White received over 20 Emmy nominations, including eight in various categories, and was awarded the Guinness World Record for the “Longest TV Career for a Female Entertainer” in 2014. Although White is no longer with us, her legacy will live forever in the hearts of millions.
