What if someone who works at the airport gives you a valuable piece of advice on avoiding losing your luggage? Even better if the person is a baggage handler. Recently, an airport employee suggested people should remove old stickers from their previous travel on their suitcases. This crucial hack was then posted by the Ontario International Airport (@flyontairport) TikTok account. The viral video has garnered over 458.9K views and 20.2K likes on the platform. It also started a conversation about travel hacks in the comment section. In the video, we first see a group of airport workers next to a conveyor belt and suitcases that are moving to the planes. "Let's say you flew American and a month later, you flew Southwest," the baggage handler said. "Well, there's a little sticker that goes on for Americans that tells the computer to go there."

Then the camera shows the conveyor belt again, "….It scans instead of this one," he says and shows the tag on a bag's handle. "There's a chance it scans it instead of this one. It might end up over there and not get on the plane." Then, the camera pans to another employee, who shows the viewers a little sticker on a suitcase for better understanding.

It is helpful advice for many people and they even commented the same on the video. @rensocal wrote, "I always assumed this was common sense. Airlines won't even put new stickers on your bag until the old one is off." @mcleodm19 shared, "If you fly Delta, you know your bag made it on the plane." @maaaahgo wrote, "I know people like to collect tags and I'm sorry if you upset that we take them off, but I'd rather you be upset about that than not having your." @playmaker09 wrote, "We used to pull those bingo tags off every bag and put them on a paper to know what bags went on what aircraft. Tag-off bags are the worst."

While traveling, people try and carry their luggage with them and if that is not possible, this advice can be really helpful. In another story about a flight attendant, Cici—who goes by @cici.inthesky on TikTok—made a video listing three must-have items people can grab from a hardware store before catching the flight. Cici, who has decided to keep her full name undisclosed for privacy reasons, advises people on how a trip to the hardware store should be on their to-do list if they are taking a flight in the future. According to her, the first item she recommended was some plastic shoe covers, which can prove ideal while going through a security check without risking getting your socks or feet dirty.

"The one thing that I think is the most useful is the painter shoe covers because they protect your clothes when you pack," she told Insider in an interview. She also suggests people carry a bungee cord if they are traveling with multiple pieces of luggage. The final item that Cici recommends buying is a simple carabiner clip. While using the clip, she shows how people can attach their heavy water bottles to their bags easily. What a great advice!
