The family was dressed as prisoners but little did they know that it would lead to a core memory for their child.
Interesting Halloween costumes are pretty much the norm for some people. But sometimes, a costume might live up to its theme a little too well and bring surprise to the person wearing it. Such an incident might be troublesome or just downright hilarious. So when the police arrested a family dressed as prisoners for Halloween and applauded their kid dressed as a police officer to help play out their costume, the internet was left in splits. The incident, along with the photos, was shared on Reddit by u/Sudden_Explorer_7280.
"Some parents were disguised as prisoners with their kid as a police officer during Halloween, the real police stopped by and pretended to arrest the parents and praise the kid," the person shared. In the photo, the parents were dressed in the striped prison uniform, complete with a cap, as they stepped out of their house for Halloween. A little boy was dressed in a police uniform as a part of their Halloween costume. In the first photo, an actual police car had stopped on the family's driveway and a policeman was standing close to it. Ready to arrest the family dressed as prisoners. There were three prisoners in the next photo, all people from one family who had been arrested by the police.
While the police pretended to arrest the adults, they also bent to the kid's level to congratulate him for gathering the prisoners in one place, probably making the child's day with their thoughtful gestures. The kid looked excited, returning the handshake, bowing a little in order to accept the praise from actual policemen who had brought the family's costume to life. The post on Reddit received more than 30k upvotes and more than 300 comments. People took to the comments section of the thread to applaud the gesture made by the policemen and to share their own experiences.

A wee boy went up to one of them and said, ‘I wanted to be a policeman for Halloween’ and the officer responded, ‘Believe me, today is the one day you don’t want to be’. Love a wee joke that kids wouldn’t actually understand themselves." u/italyqt commented, "My spouse was deployed and I thought I had broken my wrist late at night. I didn’t have much choice, so I took my eight-year-old with me to the hospital. It was a really small town and I went there all the time as an EMT, so I knew it wouldn’t be a big deal. When going into X-ray, I told him to stay right by the door and I’d be right back out. The tech brought my son in and had my son do my X-ray."

I’m heading out to lunch today and a guy in front of me is dressed as Indiana Jones, holding a skeleton over his shoulders. As we stepped onto the escalators, a cop was standing at the top of them and I turned to him and said. 'This guy is just carrying around a dead body and you’re not going to do anything about it? Yeesh! My tax dollars are hard at work.' The cop cry laughed at it. It made my day."
