The actor's actions at his San Jose show speak a thousand words. He not only made sure the fan was okay but also kept the audience hooked to his gig.
Adam Sandler is one of the most loved celebrities in Hollywood. Often charming people with his witty sense of humor, the comedian-actor is just wonderful and not many would disagree with this. At one of his recent shows, he once again proved that he really is a gem of a person. Wondering how? At his comedy show in San Jose on October 18, he came face-to-face with a dilemma but the way he tackled that situation says a lot not only about him as a person but also about his character. The incident came to light when one of the fans, jessodea3 (@electrictj), posted a video of it on TikTok.
For his latest "I Missed You" tour, the actor was doing a comedy show in San Jose, California. In his show, out of the blue, an audience member suffered from a medical emergency. In such panic, Sandler calmly paused the show to ensure that the patient got immediate medical assistance. He also guided the medical team in finding the patient, saying, "Over here guys, right down there on the left. Let's go. Alright, let's get there you all." In the now-viral clip, Adam can be seen addressing the crowd and being extremely composed. He reassures the crowd, "Everything should be alright."
While the medical personnel diligently did their work, Sandler did what he does best - he talked. He kept speaking to the crowd and reassuring them, "It'll just be a few minutes guys. Let's take a few seconds and let these guys concentrate. Love you all. Hang on a few!" He handled the situation very smartly and calmly, ensuring that neither his audience nor the patient felt uncomfortable. @andreaatkinson978, who saw the clip, lauded the actor and commented, "We should all aspire to be a little more like Adam Sandler."
As the paramedics treated the patient and took them away once they stabilized, Sandler directly addressed the fan and said, " "Feel better, bruh! We're all wishing you well there, youngster. Feel better back there. Love...." Such a small gesture, just a mere few words and yet, such a heavy impact on the hearts of everyone who witnessed it. His army of fans appreciated him to bits. Another viewer, @kelleyroda7, said, "Adam Sandler is a true bonafide gentleman. There are actors/actresses who are aware of the world around them and he is one of them. I love his movies." In an attempt to cheer up the fan while they were leaving with the paramedics, the actor said, "Let's give a round of applause for that dude. Hope he feels better. That sucks."
And, in the most Adam Sandler way - he resumed the set again, "Alright, back to the motherf*****g dumbness." While Adam Sandler is known to be one of the more outspoken, carefree and free-spirited celebrities, it is moments like these that truly show us just how humane and kind he actually is. The live audience as well as the comment section of this video were filled with love and praises for Sandler and deservingly so. Another fan @nocoman2015 commented, "What a respectful guy! Nice job, Adam Sandler...and good on you, audience members, too!"
Adam Sandler has always been empathetic, as can be seen in his Mother's Day gesture towards Jennifer Aniston. Apparently, every year on Mother's Day, he and his wife Jackie send flowers to Aniston, who doesn't have any children of her own. But to show such a deep level of kindness and compassion to a stranger when you're in the middle of a show - that is setting the bar too high.
