Many celebrities and prominent figures have achieved their desired milestones with their talents. Each has their story, hardships and more that helped them become who they are. While many celebrities wish to forget their past for various reasons, others hold on to it as a reminder of how far they’ve come and to always be grateful. A video from the '90s resurfaced on Twitter sharing the interesting and enriching interview of actor and wrestler Mr. T. The video captured the actor’s insight within a few seconds after he was questioned about his old and worn-out shoes

The interviewer asked Mr. T why he had gold and the best of fashion except for his shoes. “You know, I’m looking at you with gold and maybe 10 million dollars worth of diamonds and then I’m looking at your shoes and you know, they’re a disaster,” the interviewer said. On requesting an explanation for his “taped up and tacky shoes,” Mr. T had an illuminating response. The actor revealed that though many may find his shoes horrendous, there was a message in them. Mr. T firmly said, “These shoes keep me humble.” He also recalled a previous interview where he had worn the same shoes which were in a better condition. “These shoes were handed down by family, my father wore them, my brother wore them,” he added.

The actor further mentioned that wearing the hand-me-downs kept him "humble". “It reminds me that I have brothers and sisters back in Chicago, I have a mother and father that I must take care of,” he pointed out. Mr. T further added that it’s very easy to get caught up in fame and materialistic gains. “When I go out with the governor or dinner or anything I wear these shoes as a reminder that I can’t get too carried away,” he said.

The actor who is now in his senior years still stands by his example of humility. He constantly shares posts thanking veterans and service workers, giving donations and much more as a strong act of humility and gratitude for how far he’s come. @timecaptales shared more about the actor’s resilience for humility. The post mentioned that Mr. T, who was known for wearing a ginormous amount of gold on his neck, gave up the same for a wholesome reason.

The post read, “Mr. T stopped wearing virtually all his gold, one of his identifying marks, after helping with the clean-up after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.” The post also shared the actor’s reason. It read, “He said, ‘As a Christian when I saw other people lose their lives and lose their land and property ... I felt that it would be a sin before God for me to continue wearing my gold. I felt it would be insensitive and disrespectful to the people who lost everything, so I stopped wearing my gold.’”

Comments not only echoed applause but also many other anecdotes the actor had shared from the life lessons he received. @PGonzo577 said, “Always need to remember where you were so you don’t forget why you are changing destinations.” @JordanSour1 said, “The only thing anyone should be paying attention to is Mr. T’s heart of gold. A true inspiration.”
