A new type of helmet has been introduced to reduce concussions in surfers and it's brilliant

Safety is not something that should ever be left hanging in the air. Whatever you do, wherever you are, it is your responsibility to ensure your safety for your own sake as well as the sake of those who love you. While we often keep an eye out for our safety in certain specific things, we often forget to have it be holistic. A video on TikTok, which soon went viral due to its brilliant content, speaks about how there needs to be some safety while surfing. In the video posted by the account Surf Skull Helmet (@surfskull), they talk about how useful it is.

The video starts with someone saying, "We make a helmet that looks like a hat, and it's called Surf Skull." It then shifts to a man who makes a very good point. He says, "You wouldn't ride a bike without a helmet. You wouldn't ski without a helmet. So, why do you do this without a helmet?" He then adds to his wonderful point by saying that surfing isn't all safe and there's a high chance of concussions even if you don't do it professionally. That is why some level of safety is necessary. However, it isn't all easy.

The woman says that the truth is that surfers are inherently a tad bit judgmental. Since helmets can be quite clunky and many of them aren't even designed for water, the market for this is wide open. Describing what a Surf Skull exactly is on their website, Davon, the creator of this product, said, "I realized that most helmets on the market were bulky and unattractive, made for professional surfers and probably more than I needed." The selling point of this product is just one: it looks super cool. It is known as 'a helmet that looks like a hat.'

On their website, the Surf Skull is described quite well. They say that they have a perfect solution for the judgmental surfers, which is: "We've designed a bump cap that looks like a normal hat instead of a bulky helmet." They have two variants: One is a bucket hat and the other is a basketball hat. This helmet is very well designed. It can stay on one's head even in the heaviest pounding waves. The website described the helmet and said, "With a layer of hard plastic and shock absorbing EVA, you can rest assured that your head is protected from flying fins and late drops."
