The mom was working morning shifts as a nurse and couldn't be there to spend time with her daughter but her husband had her covered.
Parenthood completely transforms people and most parents prefer spending time with their babies and being part of special memories during their childhood even if it means changing their priorities in life. However, work and other responsibilities come into the picture and parents have to balance it out. Despite provisions such as maternity leave, the time that a mother gets to nurture her bond with the child is never enough. But luckily for a mom named Nicole DeCirce (@nicoledecirce) her husband came up with a top-tier hack to help her spend time with her baby despite her work schedule.
DeCirce works as a nurse and often has morning duties which don’t allow her to be with her baby in the wee hours of the day. In a video, the mom shared that she loves spending time with her daughter but also loves her job. DeCirce has to report to work before 6.45 am when her shift begins and her toddler is usually still asleep at that time, according to Newsweek. Her working hours unfortunately cause her to miss her toddler’s morning routines and DeCirce would love nothing more than to be there and spend time with her baby.
Although she is home at 4 pm in the evenings, DeCirce misses out on morning routines with her baby. She said, "I work two 8-hour shifts and two 10-hour shifts, so that means I get a few hours with her at night, or I get home just in time for her bedtime routine; reading a book to her or end-of-the-day cuddles before she goes to sleep.” Meanwhile, the dad is at the forefront at home getting everything done for their daughter, right from waking her up to feeding and so on, since he works from home.
Understanding the mother's dilemma, he started video calling his wife so that his daughter can see her and the mother-daughter duo could stay connected as much as possible. In the video, DeCirce is seen in scrubs getting ready for work while she smiles and interacts with her toddler. Her baby is delighted and responds with smiles and cackles. “POV: You don’t get to do your morning routine with your toddler but your husband is a gem and makes sure you send her off most of the days,” she wrote.
"I am beyond grateful that he includes me as much as he can by sending me pictures and videos all morning, along with updates as to where they are in the morning routine. If I have a moment, he'll FaceTime me right before they walk out the door for a quick little wave to say, 'I love you',” DeCirce recalled. People loved this understanding that the couple shares and the parenting tactic they’ve come up with. @briannastritchko wrote, “What a supportive husband and child who loves you when you are away and working.” @seapony85 added, “Family goals right there!” @murphymillie89 remarked, “Now that’s a healthy family.”
