The police got a call from a house in Florida neighborhood and they showed up to find the wholesome reason behind it.
Everybody knows that 911 is for emergency situations where people are in urgent need of assistance. However, many times, people mistakenly end up filing the number. Such mistakes can lead to wholesome moments, which seemed to be the case for a sweet young boy in Florida. He dialed 911 not for an emergency to offer a warm hug to the police officer. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office shared the bodycam footage on their official Instagram page.
The post caption reveals how Deputy Officer Pracht went to attend a 911 call from a young boy named Giani, only to find out that he wanted a hug. The video has managed to gain an impressive 47.7K views on the social media site. In the video, we get to see the officer approach the home and knock on the door. The boy's mother appears from the side in a few seconds and greets him.
Pracht asks her if everything is okay and that he showed up because someone from the house had made a 911 call. The woman takes a guess as to what might have happened and says, "We can talk to my son," and tells her son to come out. The officer finds out that the boy had a disconnected cell phone with him and that he probably made the call. He calmly explains to the youngster when he should dial the emergency number.
The mother asks him if he made a call to the police. The boy replies, "Well, I wanted to give him a hug!" The boy hugs the officer while his mother checks the call logs. The boy shares with the officer that he knows his number. Pracht explains, "Yeah, but you know what that's for? It's if you're in trouble if you need help. Or if somebody you know is around and that's in trouble and needs help."
He continues about how the boy should be more careful whenever he uses the number and only use it whenever there is a genuine emergency. The boy understands and fist-bumps the officer while apologizing. He warmly says, "It's okay kid. Don't worry about it." He then leaves the house. People on the platform loved the way the officer handled the situation and shared their thoughts in the comments section.
The boy's mother @la_dayi_ commented on the Instagram post, saying, "This deputy was absolutely amazing! My son woke up today saying he wanted to call him back!! Needless to say, I took his phone away!! Thank you so much officer, you left an everlasting impression on him." @hcsosheriff replied, "Thank you! He’s such a sweet little guy! Come visit us at our annual Christmas Tree Lighting and he can hug all the deputies!"
