While most of us associate sleepovers with close friends or even raging parties, one grandfather decided to invite his granddaughter for a sleepover so they could spend some quality time together. In a heartfelt text message, Megan Elizabeth's grandfather explained that he had not been feeling well and missed her. He asked her if she would like to order some takeout and watch a mystery show with one another. Elizabeth, of course, accepted the invitation. She also shared her grandfather's text messages with viewers on TikTok, who were deeply moved by his simple but meaningful request, Bored Panda reports.

Over the course of a few days, Elizabeth's granddad had felt quite ill. So, he texted her the following message: "Hi Megan, it is Grandpa. Would you like to come over and have a sleepover? I have not been feeling well and [I] miss you. We can order some food and watch a mystery show. Love, Grandpa." She shares a strong bond with her grandfather, aged 92. He lost his wife a couple of years ago and has since felt incredibly lonely. She explains in her TikTok, "My grandpa called me crying the other day saying he feels lonely." Thankfully, he can always reach out to his granddaughter if he ever needs some company.

As his health is declining, Elizabeth takes any opportunity she can get to meet and spend time with him. "Yes, I will be over around 7 pm," she replied, followed by a question. "Would you like me to get you anything from the store or anything for dinner?" He responded, asking her to pick up some applesauce—the cinnamon kind—as well as some mashed potatoes. He explained, "I would like that because I have no teeth and can only eat soft things, ha!" He later added ice cream to the list too.

He concluded his texts with a sweet but equally humorous text message: "Thank you, you are my favorite granddaughter." In her TikTok video, Elizabeth laughed, as she is his only granddaughter. Soon enough, she arrived at his home with goodies in hand, including all his grocery shop requests and some takeout from KFC. Together, they watched her grandfather's favorite black-and-white mystery show before heading off to bed. When it was time for bed, Elizabeth noticed he had made sure to leave a glass of water by her bedside. He even made her bed how he used to make it when his granddaughter was younger—with her favorite doll, which belonged to her grandma. Additionally, he handed her a flashlight in case she got scared.

In an Instagram post, Elizabeth shared a few details about the relationship she shares with her grandfather. "I feel so happy," she writes. "I am thankful for my grandpa and he will never understand how much love he truly has shown me. And more importantly, the love he showed my grandma while she was alive. I believe in love and loyalty because of this man. He is my hero."
