Gay woman feared the worst after confessing she had no 'husband' — but her client's reply made her day

Coming out to someone can be a big step for one who's spent the majority of their life in the closet. So, acceptance and love in that moment hold significant value as they're most vulnerable about their identity right then. Aeeia, a gay woman, came out to one of her clients after decades of hiding her truth. The reaction was beyond surprising, moving her to tears. She was initially heartbroken as she broke the news to the woman, Mrs. Valerie, feeling especially embarrassed that she had told her so many stories about her "husband." However, her housecleaning client could totally understand why she had to lie about her spouse, per a video on her Instagram @a_e_e_i_a.

"I came out to one of my housecleaning clients," the text overlay of the video read. "I have been telling her so many stories about my 'husband' and my heart's been breaking for so long." Aeeia was eating and chatting with her client, when she decided to talk to her. "I want to tell you something. I am going to cry, but it's normal." She revealed, "So my husband... is a girl." Mrs. Valerie responded, "Oh, neat! That's wonderful," before Aeeia went on, "I am gay and I haven't been telling you because I am afraid of losing clients." The woman shared that she had already lost too many relationships because of that. "Oh, honey! That's terrible. Just because you love someone," the client added.

Aeeia was really sorry that she had to lie to Mrs. Valerie and pointed out that she couldn't show her any pictures because of that. "But you showed me your wonderful, dramatic pictures and I loved those. You are so talented." The client continued, "It's so difficult to be yourself even when you are not going against the norms, and bless your heart." Aeeia revealed that that was why her family no longer spoke to her, "because not only do they want a potentially rich guy but... a man." Mrs. Valerie comforted her, saying, "When people don't accept you for who you are, it's very painful." She expressed, "You know, wherever and whenever you come, if you have your spouse with you, bring her. You are both welcome." Aeeia pointed out, "I guess I can show you a picture of her." The woman commented, "Absolutely, I'd love to see it."

The caption read, "And she offered to be my chosen family."
