A drag queen crashed the Trump impeachment hearings and we're here for it

And now we've officially seen at all. Amongst all the dark-suited politicians and lawyers flitting about at Capitol Hill on Wednesday, November 13, drag queen Pissi Myles made her way through security and the sea of policymakers in a bright red minidress and sky-high stilettos. She was spotted sashaying through the crowd while recording herself with her cell phone, NBC News reports. Allegedly, she was reporting for Happs, a startup changing the way live news reporting works around the world.

Needless to say, Myles made quite the impact on the others present at the first-ever public impeachment hearings. NBC News’ Heidi Przybyla remarked in a tweet as the hearings unfolded, "Someone did ask me last night if there’s anything in DC that surprises me anymore." She also posted a photo of Myles strutting her stuff down a busy corridor. Despite the absurdity that's come out of the Trump administration, 2019 is evidently the year for all things out of the ordinary. Nonetheless, Myles seemed quite confident and as if she fit right in. In an interview with NBC News, she stated, "It’s a crazy day in Washington! I’m flipping my wig over the high-energy proceedings today. Tensions are high, and the bar for who’s allowed in the Longworth House is very, very low." What a zinger.

The drag queen made an appearance at the hearings in order to cover the event for startup Happs, Myles' husband and business partner David Ayllon revealed. "They scouted him out at his Barracuda show on Sunday," he stated. "I do know they were looking for a comedian who could [do] improv on the spot and deliver the news in a fun way." In addition to being an award-winning drag queen, Myles is a comedian, comedy producer, singer, and humorist. She has also won the Philly Drag Wars and Miss Fish NYC. She frequents several performance spaces in the New York area. Furthermore, she is a regular performer in Fire Island Pines, a gay male summer vacation destination, and hosts a podcast called My Gay Spooky Family.

Myles was even featured on C-SPAN while reporting live from Capitol Hill when the television channel broadcasted images of her going through security. A guard was seen waving a metal detector wand around her big and beautiful bouffant. You can expect to see her report live next Wednesday as well, on Twitter this time. With all the new-found attention she's enjoying, there is no doubt that many Americans will be tuning in.
