After losing his brother, a fan's tribute for their shared love for Coldplay led to a surreal offer from the band.

Music has a way of anchoring us to the people we love, and in some cases, to the ones we've lost. For one die-hard Coldplay fan, James Arasi (@jamesonarasi), this was exactly the case as their songs became a shared language with his brother. However, that changed when James' brother passed away just over three years ago, after which the music that once brought them together became a painful reminder of his brother's absence.
Recently, he shared an old clip of them having the time of their life during Coldplay's Lollapalooza 2011 performance in Chicago. This clip garnered a lot of attention online, so much so that it caught the eye of the band's tour manager, who invited him to one of Coldplay's concerts during their recent world tour. "I read it 20 times before it sank in. It was the kindest thing anyone had offered me since I started sharing my story," he wrote in the caption.

London was the city he chose to attend his first concert since the passing of his brother. Why? You might be wondering. Well, it was because his brother worked in the Savoy right out of culinary school. Plus, watching Colplay play in their home city felt like the perfect tribute to his brother. However, the story didn't end there. The band then went out of their way and invited James backstage and asked him to join their huddle right before the performance, giving him the ultimate experience, and also his brother, who surely was there in spirit.

After such a surreal night, James had no other way but to describe the night as, "It was my best day, since my worst day. A one-of-one experience. For the one I’ll always miss." Nonetheless, this lovely gesture from the band and their manager highlights a broader issue that can be erased with our collective effort. According to recent studies, nearly 1 in 3 adults report feeling lonely due to various reasons, including the loss of a loved one, and almost 1 in 4 adults across the U.S. do not have social or emotional support.

That's why, witnessing this entire incident unfold right in front of their eyes, the people couldn't help but extend their support for James. "I went to a Coldplay concert in London. It was *by far* the best, most wholesome and happy concert ever! I hope it can help heal you. I choose to believe he was singing along with you," @kstidl wrote. At the same time, @misterklaeboe commented, "This is love, this is what it's all about. I'm so happy for you and the memories this evoked and created. Much love."
