It's fascinating how people find humor in the most unexpected situations. Blind English actor and comedian Chris McCausland did just that while presenting the 2022 BAFTAs alongside fellow comedian and actor Lee Mack. The duo put on a hilarious skit that had the audience in stitches. BBC later shared the clip on YouTube, capturing the comedians having the time of their lives on stage.

McCausland kicked off the segment with a witty remark, saying, "Just to let you know, this is the first time somebody blind has been asked to present a BAFTA." He then explained that his co-presenter, Lee Mack, would be reading his lines from the autocue. The audience erupted in laughter as Mack looked momentarily stunned. Mack began, "It's a pleasure to be here today at the BAFTAs," with McCausland repeating after him. But when Mack continued, "To present the award for female performance in a comedy program" McCausland started to repeat that too—until Mack quickly cut him off. "That's actually my bit," Mack clarified, prompting McCausland to respond, "I didn't realize that," earning more laughter from the crowd. Mack reassured him, "We are taking turns," setting the stage for more comedic moments to follow.

McCausland continued the playful back-and-forth by declaring, "We are taking turns," not realizing that the cue was meant for them, not the audience. Mack quickly corrected him, saying, "That's just me talking to you," as McCausland threw his hands in the air and asked, "Who's next?" "You are," Mack replied. "But I don't know what to say," McCausland admitted. "That's because I haven't told you yet," Mack explained before delivering the next line: "The importance of women in comedy cannot be overstated." Instead of repeating the line, McCausland quipped, "I know, that's why we are here," leading to another round of laughter. Mack clarified that McCausland was supposed to repeat after him, and after a brief pause, he finally did—just as Mack accidentally read part of McCausland’s next line, keeping the audience in stitches.

As the skit continued, Mack mistakenly read out McCausland’s next line, saying, "Let's take a look..." before quickly realizing his error. He turned to McCausland and admitted, "That was actually your line." McCausland, baffled, asked, "Seriously, 'Let's take a look' is my line?" Before the playful argument could escalate, Mack cut him off, quipping, "I didn't write it, just say it." The duo continued their comedic bickering until the very end, struggling to keep a straight face as the audience roared with laughter. The hilarious exchange had viewers rushing to the comments section to share their reactions to the perfectly executed bit.

Give them a stage, give them a program, could be the two ronnies, Morecambe and wise, who knows, but this was comedy genius!" @dazediss6629 remarked, "You can tell that these two grew up on Morecambe and Wise, Two Ronnies, Laurel and Hardy, etc." @drxym shared, "It's kind of funny that Chris and Miles Jupp started their careers on related kids TV shows - Ballamory and Me Too." @maggiedavies5312 expressed, "This is the ultimate pick me up if you’re feeling a tad miserable. These two are both brilliant and together they are stratospheric."
