Veteran comic Andy Huggins’ hilarious take on life’s “serious” issues is going viral, winning over audiences on social media.
Savage comebacks are a hallmark of great comedy, and one comedian has mastered them so effortlessly that the internet has crowned him the new “King” of one-liners. Veteran comedian Andy Huggins, also known as "The Old-Timer," recently delivered a wildly successful stand-up set for Don’t Tell Comedy, where he hilariously poked fun at himself for being “too old.” Leaning into his life experiences with razor-sharp wit, the 74-year-old had the audience in stitches. A viral clip captured the America’s Got Talent alum joking about everything from dating at his age to colonoscopies and student loans—proving that no subject is off-limits when it comes to great comedy.
Huggins took the stage with a warm and inviting presence, making it clear that he wasn’t just performing—he was connecting. Opting for an intimate approach, he sat among the audience, turning his set into what felt like a nostalgic conversation with old friends. “I, uh, started walking towards the stage three comics ago,” Huggins quipped, setting the tone with his signature self-deprecating humor. The veteran comedian continued with a hilarious reflection on receiving female attention through his craft. “Forty years ago, when I started doing stand-up, everyone told me it was a great way to meet women. We’ll see,” he joked before seamlessly transitioning into stories about his recent dating experiences.

"I joined a dating site for people my age called ‘Carbon Dating,’" Huggins joked. I, uh, asked a woman on the site for her number. She told me it was 140 over 95.” With his signature wit, the comedian delivered a sarcastic take on aging and its inevitable quirks. He continued, “The great thing about dating a woman in my age bracket? I don’t have to worry about meeting her parents.” Huggins then shifted gears to another everyday experience—booking an Uber. He recalled hopping into a car driven by a man from Egypt. "When I got into his car, he was talking on the phone in Arabic. Only, I didn’t see any device, so I thought he was speaking to me using syllables I didn’t recognize," said the comic, leaving the audience to assume the obvious.
Huggins’ humor never veered into malice—instead, he masterfully framed everyday situations through his senior lens. "So, this is what a stroke is like," he quipped, sending the audience into fits of laughter. He then shifted to another relatable struggle: accidentally dropping a phone in the toilet. “I did drop my phone in the toilet once, and after that, I put it in a bag of rice,” he said. “Does anybody ever drop a bag of rice in the toilet?” The audience erupted at his unexpected twist on the common fix. The comedian continued to poke fun at his age with a string of sharp one-liners: “I took a quiz on Facebook called, ‘What's your spirit animal?’ I got extinct.” “I had a colonoscopy, and when it was over, they said, ‘We'll see you in ten years,’ and I thought, ‘The f*** you will!’” “I, uh, tried using that face aging app. They said, ‘Nah, you're good.’”
He concluded his set with a pointed take on student loans. “I just paid off my student loan. It was tough getting older.” Huggins’ 10-minute-long hilarious performance filled with one-liners managed to draw widespread attention on YouTube, garnering 4.3 million views and 120k likes. Among the countless reactions it received, @SunWarrior155 lauded, “You'd think the 'I'm old' cliché would be dry, but this guy's a riot.” “I'm 22. I laugh out loud at this skit. My whole family and I love it. As soon as I heard the carbon dating joke, I was sold,” @arabianflowers chimed in. “I'm 75, and I laugh so hard every time I watch this young man. Which is about 40 times a day...I'm told,” @mykel714 added.
