A husband planned for one last Valentine’s surprise before his death and his wife's reaction moved the internet.
In love, people often go beyond imagination to make their partner feel special. From small, thoughtful gestures to grand endeavors, love truly knows no barriers. Over time and with age, it often deepens into a stronger bond, strengthened by trust, commitment, and shared memories. Similarly, the never-ending love between Emily Faron and her late husband, Roy, is a testament to this profound truth. A week after Roy's tragic passing, Emily discovered his final Valentine's gift—a heartfelt gesture that proved the popular saying, "If he truly wanted to, he would." The bittersweet moment was shared by their granddaughter Jacqueline Faron, who goes by @jacquelinefaron on TikTok.
Roy and Emily had been married for 70 years before he left for his heavenly abode. Yet, before his demise, he had thoughtfully arranged for flowers as a Valentine's gift for his beloved wife, Faron shared. Faron shared the heartbreaking yet beautiful moment of how Emily returned home to a delightful surprise while planning the funeral.
"She's currently planning the funeral, and when she comes home, the flowers are here. Is that not the sweetest thing you've ever heard of?" Faron exclaimed before sharing a glimpse of Emily's priceless reaction. The scene then shifted to her grandmother gently unwrapping a beautiful flower bouquet with a note attached to it. As she read the heartfelt message, Emily looked visibly emotional. "My grandpa was the sweetest," Faron shared in the caption.
Meanwhile, reacting to the heartwarming video, @hragas shared, "My grandfather did the same. Well, technically he got her Valentine's flowers and then passed the next day. He ordered the flowers 6 months in advance when he was diagnosed with late-stage cancer." @lochness_knots commented, "Stop! Your grandma seems like the sweetest soul, and obviously, your grandpa was too. That’s true love right there!" @isabeltoelle wrote, "I used to be a florist, and there was this elderly man that stopped in knowing he was going to pass soon, paid us a bunch of money to send his wife $10 flowers once a month until the money ran out." @whit suggested, "You should save those flowers OR save some flowers from Grandpa's funeral and dry them and put them in a jar to give her in the future. I have done this for my grandparents/neighbors."
@samantharae435 shared, "The moment she read it, she didn’t expect any less, but she realized how much she loved and missed him all at the same time." On the other hand, @kelli revealed, "My grandparents were together for 65 years, and long story short, she wanted a pricey living room rug, so he bought it for her, and it came the day we had his funeral—they loved each other so much!" @deneen commented, "That’s such a beautiful love one could only wish for. They don’t make them like our grandpas anymore, that’s for sure."
Interestingly, while talking to PEOPLE, Faron shared that the note attached to the bouquet of flowers read, "Emily, I love you forever. Roy." Moreover, Faron shared her lovely grandparents' love story, a tale so enchanting that it felt like it was straight out of a romance novel. Her grandfather had a service station where he met his then-future wife, Emily. "Their first date was New Year’s Eve going into the year of 1951," Faron said. The two exchanged wedding vows in 1954, and their love remained nothing less than a fairytale until Roy passed away.
