90-year-old neighbor bid the most heart-rending adieu to beloved senior dog before she passed away

Having a pet changes the life of a pet parent, as well as of those around them. Their love and warmth are so magical that once it is embraced, there is no going back. A woman named Kimber – who goes on TikTok by @its.me.kimber – shared a heart-wrenching video of her aged dog, who was soon to leave the world and her 90-year-old neighbor meeting for the last time. As heartbreaking as the video was, the love and caressing in the same was evident because of the wholesome and overwhelming bond the two shared. The canine was lying in the backyard when the neighbor came to see her.

Due to age and presumably being sick, the dog did not have much time left and her neighbor came to say one of his most painful goodbyes ever. “My 90-year-old neighbor came to say goodbye to my dog,” the text overlay read. The woman continued to explain how her dog and neighbor grew together over the years. As he bent down towards the dog, she was overwhelmed with his gentle pats and scratches. The dog even in her state, looked at the man and eagerly began to wag her tail as much as she could. “She was so happy to see him,” the text read. The woman also shared that the man would give her a biscuit every day.

As the man spoke to the dog in an inaudible dialogue, one could tell he had nothing but words of encouragement and love to share. “They adored each other. It breaks my heart to see them together one last time,” the text read. The man stayed by the dog for quite some time and didn’t stop showering her with gentle pets on her head and belly and chest rubs. The man also helped feed the dog water and did his best to spend time most fruitfully. “2 friends saying their last goodbye,” the text continued. Nothing breaks a heart more than losing a pet and one cannot explain the feeling for it is beyond gut-wrenching. 

While the woman was filled with sorrow because she had to let her pet go, even her neighbor felt a prick in his heart, which was evident in the video. Viewers related to the video on a different level. @jefforyelliott45 said, “There’s always a price to pay on the other end, but it’s worth it.” @francef14 rightly stated, “The reason why God gave us dogs is so we could have long, beautiful friendships with humans. Who loves who more?”
