The majority of 9-year-old kids excitedly await their elementary school graduation. However, one child from Pennsylvania has leaped forward and recently received his high school diploma. After completing online courses, 9-year-old David Balogun just graduated from Harrisburg's Reach Cyber Charter School, according to WGAL. The boy said, "They didn't bog me down. They also advocated for me, saying, 'He can do this. He can do that.'"

One of the youngest high school graduates ever, the youngster enjoys science and computer programming and he has already begun acquiring credits for a college degree, as per The Guardian. David enrolled in school just before the early 2020 coronavirus epidemic shut down the nation and less than three years later, he graduated with a GPA of above 4.0. Ronya Balogun, David's mother, told Insider, "When we tested him for giftedness in first grade, he had already passed a second-grade level in Math and in English. So that's when I stepped in and I said, 'He does not need to go to second grade. He needs to go to third grade.' Then Covid hit."

"Two and a half years later, he finished high school," she added. Even though Balogun's parents have advanced degrees, raising a young child with exceptional intellectual abilities is difficult. Ronya explained, "I had to get outside of the box. Playing pillow fights when you're not supposed to, throwing the balls in the house. He's a 9-year-old with a brain that has the capacity to understand and comprehend a lot of concepts beyond his years and sometimes beyond my understanding."

The child prodigy enjoys playing the piano and practicing martial arts, but he also loves science and computer programming and has astrophysics as one of his career goals. He said, "I want to be an astrophysicist and I want to study black holes and supernovas." David gives a number of his favorite teachers' credit for his achievement. In just the short years it took him to complete the 12th grade, he managed to impart some knowledge on them. Cody Derr, the science teacher, "David was an inspirational kid, definitely one who changes the way you think about teaching."

Davis has already finished one semester at Bucks County Community College to support him in pursuing his interests and according to WGAL, his parents are presently considering their alternatives for college. However, because he's still young, they don't want to send him too far from home. Ronya said, "We're still kind of grappling with all these things, if that makes any sense, to figure out what is the right fit."

Henry Balogun, his father, said, "You can imagine a 9-year-old running around campus by himself. And they might see him as 'OK, where is the parent? Where is your dad?' Or 'where is your mom?' " Ivy League schools like Harvard University, Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania are still options, the family said.
