"Spot the Difference" is a puzzle game that has intrigued most of us since childhood. It sends us into a loop of brainstorming. But when we chance upon a puzzle without any differences to spot, it leaves us scratching our heads more than before. That's what happened when a man named Jason – who goes by u/MrJ01 on Reddit–posted a picture of one such puzzle. He shared that his 8-year-old nephew found it at the restaurant they were dining in and had asked for help to complete it. But no one, including 31-year-old Jason, has been able to solve it and it's because there's more to it.

The two images in the picture are of a boy holding a fish on his fishing rod. There are trees, bushes, clouds, and birds in both the images. Jason captioned the post, "My little nephew asked me for help: Find the 6 differences?" People on the platform were quite thrilled to solve it but could not. u/hallohi_ commented, "There are some differences in line thickness between the two images, but they (the makers) definitely did something wrong. Or good if their aim was to keep a child busy for an indefinite amount of time." u/desperate-ad-6463 wrote, "Looking at these with crossed eyes would normally quickly show you the differences. There are none."

u/the-lazy-lemur shared, "Welp, I layered both the photos on top of each other. The bottom one is at 100% opacity and the top one is at 50% opacity. I can say with 100% confidence there is no difference." u/heykurat said, "Your nephew is learning an important lesson about trusting one's own senses vs what other people tell him is true." u/54R45VV471 wrote, "They accidentally printed the same image twice, so I guess it's a 'DIY Find The Differences' puzzle now. You can tell your nephew he can draw the differences himself so people can try to spot where he colored the picture differently."

In an interview with Newsweek, Jason shared he thought he would solve the puzzle within seconds. But after several minutes, he started to doubt his ability "to solve a simple kids' puzzle." He recalled, "I was having a family lunch to celebrate my aunt's birthday, and my nephews got a puzzle plate from the restaurant." "After finishing all the other puzzles, one of my nephews asked for help with the Spot the Difference puzzle, which supposedly had six differences."

He didn't expect that he won't be able to solve the puzzle. He revealed, "I thought it would be easy, and I expected to see the first differences within seconds. But I looked long and hard, only to get mildly infuriated and I started to think it was just two identical images. I asked my family and everyone agreed it was probably a misprint." It was indeed a misprint on the puzzle plate and one of the Reddit users had proof. They shared the original two images and in them, you can easily spot the differences.

Though Jason posted the image on the internet to solve the confusion, he never expected his post to grab this much attention. "I loved how people from all over the world took the time to help me look for the differences, even overlapping the two images to prove the images are, in fact, the same," he said. The picture on Reddit has received 23,000 upvotes and 1,100 comments.
