You probably know about one of the biggest hits of the early 2000s, "Hey There Delilah" by the "Plan White T's". That song went off the Billboard charts with the music video reaching over 100 million views on Youtube. It is one of those songs that are special to girls all around the world with the name Delilah but one very special girl got the surprise of a lifetime. A TikTok user by the name of Isaiah Garza surprised 8-year-old Delilah who is a cancer patient with her very own concert with none other than, Tom Higgenson. The video starts with Garza greeting Delilah saying, “Hi Delilah! I have a surprise for you. It’s a special video that the singer of 'Hey There Delilah' sent for you! And he made it just for you.”

Delilah's eyes widened out of sheer disbelief and awe and she could hardly contain her little smile. Any person would be floored if their favorite singer flew in just to visit and sing a song for them. The captions on the video revealed that Delilah has been listening to his song every day since her 4-year-long battle with cancer. Before popping out from the corner of the room, Higgenson sends her a video message saying, "What’s up Delilah? It’s Tom from Plain White T’s. I hear you’re a big fan of our song "Hey There Delilah" so I figured I would play it for you right now. Here we go.” Tom was approaching her while holding his guitar as Delilah watched, with a huge smile plastered on her face.

Later, she and the medical staff sang along with the vocalist from the Plain White T's, which undoubtedly cheered up the entire floor. Higgenson hugged her and dedicated the final line of the song to her: “Hey there Delilah, here’s to you.” The video on Tiktok has garnered over 13 million views with one comment from Santa Claus saying, "Love these magical moments. I’m sending all of my best wishes to Delilah. 💚♥️🎅🏻." Alison teal wrote, "Wow! This made my day and also made me cry. Some many important things in life that need more attention than everything we stress about." Dollangelica penned, "Cancer isn’t fair 😭 she’s so beautiful!". The emotional outpour is real in the comments.

This video was also shared on Reddit where many people came together to talk about how wonderful Tom Higgenson is with some similar stories of their own. A Redditor under the name, u/willfullyspooning commented, "In middle school, I was at one of their concerts and they were walking around before the concert near the merch booths and stuff. Tom saw my band shirt and gave me a double high five and a compliment, it was definitely the highlight of that year for me. The funny thing is that after that encounter whenever I wore that shirt I would just have the unluckiest days, I would pull it out once in a while and convince myself that it was going to be a good day and it was always terrible lol. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that I used up all the good luck that shirt had with Tom’s double high five 😂"

Moreover, children with cancer have a long road ahead of them and it is imperative to encourage them and show support. According to compasstocare, "Approximately 1 in 750 young adults, or 500,000 people in the United States, are childhood cancer survivors." So as a society, it is our duty to push one another forward during tumultuous moments in life because that is what keeps all of us moving.
