Alojz Abram, aka Gramps, is proof that showing off swag on social media isn't exclusively a young person's game. The 75-year-old from Mainz, Germany, has quite a substantial fanbase online with a staggering 1 million Instagram followers swooning over his stylish, street-style looks. Abram's rise to Instagram celebrity status began in 2016 when his 24-year-old grandson, Jannik Diefenbach, first introduced him to streetwear and asked Gramps if he'd like to try out some of his clothes. "'I asked him if he wanted to try on my clothes. He said 'yes,' tried them on and looked super cool," Diefenbach —who is a photographer—told Daily Mail. "We took some pictures, uploaded them and everyone loved it."

"Gramps used to dress like a regular retiree, very boring and not sporty at all," he revealed to The Modern Met. "When he tried on my clothes, he felt comfortable and liked the way he looked. Since he felt great and we had lots of fun taking pictures, we kept it up and did some more shoots in different outfits. At some point, Gramps started to wear the pieces in his daily life. Now he only wears streetwear and sneakers and loves it!"

From knit beanies to cuffed chinos to drool-worthy pairs of Nikes, Gramps shows that one can look great in any outfit as long as they have the confidence to pull it off. To prove it, he has recreated several celebrity-OOTDs, including that of Kayne West, Justin Bieber, and Bernie Sanders. Here are some of our favorites:

"It's great to be able to spend so much time with Gramps. He's a cool guy and it's always fun to take photos of him," said Diefenbach. "Before Covid, we used to travel a lot for work and I really liked that. Visiting new places whilst having a great time with Gramps is super cool. We posted the pictures of Gramps because he looked cool. When the first big Instagram page reposted one of the pictures, we reached the one-thousand follower mark and we were surprised then. It's great to see that Gramps can entertain and inspire so many people by simply enjoying himself."

"At first, he didn't understand his Instagram fame because he wasn't too deep into social media," he continued. "Now, he loves being recognized on the streets and is always happy when someone asks for a selfie with him. He definitely enjoys being famous. We've always been super close. When I was a child, Gramps used to pick me up once a week after school. We used to play table tennis, football, and other stuff. We've definitely grown even closer now that we have our shared hobby. We get to spend lots of time together, can work and travel and enjoy the time. It's never too late to start something new."
