Experience is the best teacher. This is very evident in life, where the gravity of some things can only be understood once you actually experience them. One can always look to their elders for simple and valuable advice based on all the time they have spent on Earth. Instagram influencer Yair Brachiyahu (@yairbrachiyahu), who interviewed strangers and asked them about general life advice, shared an insightful video where he interviewed a 60-year-old woman. The video has become quite popular on the social media platform, getting over 10.1 million views.

Brachiyahu begins the video by asking the woman how old she is. She smiles warmly and replies that she is was over 60 years old. He then asks her, "What's your secret for looking so great at 60?" The woman shares how people should take care of their stomachs. She explains how whatever people consumed when they were younger would determine how healthy they were many years down the line.

According to the woman, most of the younger generation did not think too much about their diet, which could lead to future health problems. She says, "The damage we do at 20 is what we're going to see after 35." Brachiyahu reiterates her advice to viewers. Once he is done, the woman leans into the mic to give one more piece of advice about reading. She states how the content that people consume will have a major influence on outcomes in their lives.

This piece of advice caught Brachiyahu's attention, so he asked the woman to explain in more detail what she meant. She explains, "Because what we read or what we fall in love with is what our brain is going to be focused on." The woman provides an example of how if an individual's mind was overtly focused on violence, bad friendships or unsuccessful love, it would eventually bring them down mentally. She concluded by saying how much negative thoughts could make individuals age faster in life.

The wise old man also added, "You have gratitude for what you have. Have compassion and accept what is. If you can change it, okay. But there are some things that you need to accept—things that you can't change. If you can't change it, then let it go. Be who you are and people will like you." Such words of advice from two senior citizens are sure to resonate with many in the modern world.
