They were stuck in the car for 55 hours in searing heat and nobody knows what they went through.
Moments of crisis always activate all our survival instincts, we often rush to protect our loved ones from any real or perceived danger. A young girl is being hailed after saving the life of her baby brother. Their family was involved in a brutal car crash, reports CNN. The family was driving in Kondinin early on Christmas morning to attend a party when their car crashed. The five-year-old girl and her two siblings were left stranded at the roadside wreck for more than two days while they awaited rescue.
In the collision, their parents Cindy Braddock, 25, and Jake Day, 28, tragically died. The three children survived but they were stuck in the vehicle with their dead parents in the sweltering heat. The daughter and her two brothers, who are 2 and 1, were among the five members of the family who were reported missing by their relatives after they failed to arrive at a Christmas Day party.
Michael Read, a relative, told Nine News that the 5-year-old girl freed her smallest brother from his child seat and saved his life. He said, "If it wasn’t for the 5-year-old undoing the buckle of the 1-year-old’s car seat, he wouldn’t be with us today. She’ll probably not know for a few years." He added, "Basically they were stuck in the car for 55 hours in 30-degree (Celsius – about 86 Fahrenheit) heat. Nobody knows what they went through."

According to police, the kids had significant dehydration when they were rushed to the hospital. They were able to survive with non-life-threatening wounds, and they will likely be released from the hospital soon. The little town of Kondinin is in a state of shock following the catastrophe. Helen Whitbread, a close friend of Braddock, predicted that the neighborhood would "never get over it." After Christmas, Whitbread was supposed to catch up with Braddock, but instead, she is mourning her friend.
She said. "This town's never going to be the same without them. Cindy's done an awesome job with the babies and now they're not going to have a mum." In light of the accident, caution is once again advised on country routes. Cam Dumesny from the Western Roads Federation said, "We've got to improve our road safety in this state. Too many families have been impacted, it is tragic, we need to do better."

The three children have a cloud of uncertainty on their heads as they will resume their lives without their parents. However, this instance of love between the siblings between such a droll tragedy proves they will always have each other's back despite the circumstances. In a similar story, on December 27, 2020, Rose Andresen was traveling with her husband, Adam Terrell, when he abruptly passed out behind the wheel. Near Jacksonville, Florida, the couple crashed off the side of Interstate 10. Andresen had to climb through the crashed car to look for help and a stranger stopped by to help them. Later, Andresen took the help of social media to find the person who saved her husband's life.
