Random acts of kindness never fail to put a smile on people's faces, especially when they're on the receiving end of one from a random stranger. When the initial shock of experiencing unconditional respect and appreciation from someone who wants nothing in return wears off, the unforgettable memory of the incident can leave you feeling warm and loved whenever it pops back into your head. Creative and radio host Maggie Fischer recently experienced one such unexpected act of kindness and was so surprised and moved by it that she took to Twitter to share her astonishment.
Fischer revealed in the now-viral tweet that a guy approached her while she was writing in her journal alone, got her some whiskey, told her he respects her vibe and just left without bothering her. The unprompted act of kindness struck a chord with many on Twitter, racking up nearly 350,000 likes with a more than 14,600 retweets. It also inspired many to share similar acts of kindness they'd experienced or witnessed around them and Fischer's tweet soon became one of the most wholesome Twitter threads in the internet's history.

One dude traveling town to town buying drinks for random ladies wanting nothing in return. Honestly, this is a more impressive superhero skill set than Hawkeye’s.

My daughter is 7 & very outgoing. Whenever I take her w/me somewhere, she’ll randomly compliment strangers—“I love your hair!” “Cute shirt!” “I like your mask!”—& it really seems to touch ppl & make them happy. Now I try to do the same thing, & it feels good to make ppl happy.

returned, I said “I just met an angel. He helped me feel soooo much better. I’m going to bed. Go find him and thank him.” She did and they’ve been married 19 years. Kindness can change peoples’ lives. His Scottish accent probably helped.

This happened to me, a guy bought me a beer because I was alone at a bar in the afternoon and looked sad. I’d just been let go from a job (that I hated, so it wasn’t the worst thing) and was jet lagged and exhausted from trekking in the Himalayas so…he wasn’t wrong.

I was with a group of teachers, 4 women, we still had our badges on from a conference and the waiter brought over a flight of champagne. It was from an anonymous gentleman at the bar to thank us for being teachers.

When my son was, about 10, we passed a woman and he told her-“that’s a pretty sweater”. After we passed her, he said “she looked sad- like she needed a compliment “. I knew then that he would be a good man. He is.

I had a guy buy me a 1st class seat when he overheard me on the phone crying because I had been up for 72 hours traveling back & forth from LA to NY twice. I had been working cadaver labs, tired, hungry & I missed my son’s bday. The kindest thing a man has ever done for me.

I was in Philly walking in the underground hall that brings you up to the surface. I was in a great mood just listening to my headphones and an older gentleman, 70+ walking toward me took my hand and twirled me around and just kept walking without skipping a beat. Made my day!

30 years ago I was working as a cashier in my college cafeteria. A student told me, “You look like a silent screen goddess” and walked away. Never saw him again. Back then I hated myself and felt fat and ugly. Now I can see he was right. pic.twitter.com/6lOLDhJf3U

One of the highlights of my life.
