According to the National Cartoonists Society, Tomlinson is a South African and is currently based in New York City. His work has been featured regularly in Readers Digest, Airmail, Private Eye, The Oldie, Weekly Humorist and other media outlets.

In most of his comics, Tomlinson features a distinct Grim Reaper who is always there to spoil the positive parts of an individual's life. He also includes a bunch of animals like cats, dogs and frogs going through therapy sessions where they share about the burdens of societal expectations on them. Some of his comic strips also reflect on the day-to-day struggles of an average person with a dash of dark humor. Tomlinson also skillfully captures the irony of regular life and it is oddly relatable to a lot of us viewers.
