21 posters explaining what women should 'thank a feminist' for

Isn't it crazy how it's only been a few decades since women have been able to vote? Since our right to education, choice, employment, financial independence, and many other things we take for granted today were acknowledged? Given how far we've come in our quest for equality, it is easy to forget the years-long struggle that gave way to these rights and the brave and determined souls who tirelessly fought for them. School of Feminism, an online feminist community, wants to make sure we don't. The organization designed a series of posters listing some of the biggest milestones in the fight for women's rights that were achieved by the efforts of feminists.

"Thanks to feminists, women can vote, work, abort [their pregnancies], divorce [spouses], wear pants, read any book [they like], use birth control, take out a loan... There are still many rights to fight for to achieve real equality between women and men around the world. Let's keep up the fight," School of Feminism wrote on Facebook. "There are many things [women can] thank feminism for," the organization told Bored Panda. "From being able to vote to wearing pants, these are just a few obvious things that we do not consider on a day-to-day basis and that is why our simple and clear message has been so viral."

"But despite all our achievements, we continue to live in a tremendously macho and unequal society. Do not forget that there still are many rights to fight for to achieve real equality throughout the world," they added. "Everyone has the potential to make a change in the world. When we released this series, we didn’t expect such a huge reaction because we didn’t have a community to share the project with. We firmly believe that through [active] communication we can translate the concepts of Feminism into something so simple, everyone will be able to understand and embrace it."
