2-year-old Italian-American girl's New Jersey accent has everyone 'bawwling': 'I'm leewking at a mirraa'

Accents can either add or leave the leverage from a person’s speech, depending on how natural it sounds. People often take pride in their unique accents that mark their identity or culture. Similarly, TikTok has found a new accent that they are smitten by and it comes from an adorable 2-year-old Gia straight from New Jersey. Elaina Christina—who goes by @imelainachristina on TikTok—shared a video of her niece with the most adorable speech enhanced by her Jersey accent and the ‘w’s sounding at the end of each word has everyone’s hearts stolen. The woman first posted a video to simply share the cute words with users, but many were awestruck, deeming the little one a star.

“My niece has an accent, so I’m going to say words without an accent to show you all,” Christina said, holding the tiny tot in her arms facing the camera. “Say chocolate,” Christina said. Gia replied with the most heart-melting accent, “Chawcolawte.” Her next word, “coffee” came out as the purest, “Cawfee.” “Say water,” Christina said, unable to control her chuckles at the adorable girl’s words. “Wawtaw,” Gia innocently replied, having no clue that thousands were gleaming at her speech along with her aunt.

Even the smallest words like “talk, walk” had the accent embedded as if by fault. “Tawlk, Walk,” Gia repeated the words after her aunt with the sweetest baby voice. People were blushing and delighted at the girl’s accent and were immensely proud that she got that richness as she said her words from such a young age. With nearly 13k comments, people couldn’t help but type the words with the “w”s as if they were repeating it themselves. @hotmess_yess said, “My son spoke with a New York accent until he was almost 4. We’re from California, it’s the weirdest thing!”

@efarley1995 said, “Tell her to say, ‘Hey, I’m walking here,’” sure of the fact that the statement would be flooded with the adorable accent. @trishlynn11 said, “She’s a little New Yawka!” Christina was no longer the star of her page and people wanted more of Gia. The woman shared several other videos asking the little girl to say sentences and words suggested by others. In one of the videos, Christina wrote in her caption, “Our 2-year-old star Gia saying sentences with her New Jersey Italian American family!” Holding little Gia in her arms, she said, “Gia has an accent, right?” Gia looked at her and nodded.

She then revealed she was going to say words and sentences without any accent to see if the girl would still hang on to the New Jersey accent. “Say, ‘I’m looking in a mirror,” Elaina said. Gia replied, “I’m leewking in a miraa.” She then came up with an Italian sentence to see if it changed anything. “Say, ‘Nona, give me a meatball.’” Gia stuck with her accent saying, “Nowna, give me a mewtbawl.” Towards the end of the video, Elaina asked Gia to give a goodbye, saying, “Nice talking to you all.” Gia excitedly said, “Nice tawkig to you, aww.” @jerseymamabear91 said, “We are from Jersey and my niece says ‘mirror’ the same way!” @mommab_of_3 said, “I could listen to her talk all day. ‘Meatbawwl.’” @vanessavelasquez555 said, “‘Nice tawking to you aww was the best!’”
