Parents' support and encouragement mean the world to children. The best thing parents can do is understand their child's talent at a young age and encourage them to follow it. These parents noticed their 2-year-old's artwork in 2023 when they were on vacation in South Tyrol, Italy, per PEOPLE. The child, Laurent Schwarz from Bavaria, Germany, now has a portfolio of abstract paintings and has already sold paintings for a massive amount. It is fascinating to see what the kid has attained at such a young age.

Laurent is called a "pint-sized Picasso" and sold paintings for about $7000. He has reportedly made abstract paintings of elephants, dinosaurs, horses, etc. It all started in September 2023 while they were on vacation. The mother, Lisa Schwarz, said there was a painting room in the hotel and he would not come out of it. So just before Christmas, the parents made a studio for the 2-year-old at home and he was in it all the time.

Art lovers are in awe of how Laurent creates such paintings. Lisa said, "They're abstracts and what's unusual is how he integrates discernible figures into them, which people often mention to us and which makes them so popular," according to The New York Post. "You can clearly recognize his animals, like elephants, which are one of his favorite animals, as well as dinosaurs and horses. It's very important to him that it's bright and colorful. Brown and other boring colors don't interest him. He has a very clear idea about the colors he mixes," she added.

Lisa also created a page on Instagram for Laurent's artwork and it has about 31,000 followers. The mother said, "I thought I'd set up a channel because his painting looked so nice. That triggered a real hype." With the sort of appreciation the kid received from social media, the mother decided to sell Laurent's artwork online. She enlisted his paintings on the website Laurents.art. It has brought in buyers from many countries like the UK and the Bahamas. That's not all. An art gallery from New York also contacted the family to display Laurent's artwork there.

In April, Laurent's artwork was displayed at Munich's biggest art fair, ART MUC and sold to people worldwide. Moreover, in August, there will be a private viewing of his art in his home village, Neubeuern. Though some of his paintings are being sold for close to $7000, the money is being put into his bank account and he can only access it once he is 18.

Despite his achievements, his mother does not want to push him. The mom told The New York Post, "It's totally up to him when and what he paints. Sometimes he doesn't feel like painting and doesn't set foot in his studio for three or four weeks, but then suddenly it grabs him and he says, 'Mama, painting.'" Also, Laurent is very aware of his own work. He could easily identify his paintings from among the thousands of others on display at the Munich art fair. Lisa recalled, "He went straight up to them and said, 'Laurent painted.'"
