The 10-year-old boy finds learning science fun and wants other people to see the joy in learning too.
Curiosity is something adults can definitely learn from kids—especially from 10-year-old Sean Atitsogbe, who’s teaching the world about the science behind everyday life. Sean, also known as "The Science Kid," has gained a following on social media, with one of his Instagram videos explaining why breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as reported by Good Morning America. On YouTube, he’s captured attention by breaking down the functions of the human heart and brain. He goes by @learningwithseanthesciencekid on both platforms.
Sean, from Lilburn, Georgia, started his YouTube channel talking about various science-related things in 2020 when he was six years old with the help of his mom, Eunice Atitsogbe. He dreams of becoming a neuro cardio surgeon and has been fascinated by science since he was a toddler. "Science is like 99% curiosity," he told the outlet. The way science explains things about the universe is also one of the reasons he likes it. Eunice revealed that all the concepts featured across various platforms are researched by the boy on his own through a library or online without any help from either of his parents.

"The things he knows, none of us taught him -- either me or Daddy. Nobody sits him down to teach him anything. He teaches himself a lot. So, as parents, we just give him the environment for him to do that," the mom expressed. However, the mom didn't think his videos online would gain as much attention as they have. "My message to other parents is that we pay attention to our kids because they start demonstrating these gifts at a very young age. So, pay attention to them. As soon as you identify that this child of mine likes this, you as a parent do whatever you can to support the child, to bring that nature and gifts that child has," she went on.
Eunice encouraged parents to dream big for their kids and support their unique interests. The kid introduced his channel as a 6-year-old on YouTube and explained how he wants to make learning science fun for everyone. He also explained what a neurocardiologist does, his dream job as as an adult. He went on about how he wanted to become a part brain and part heart specialist. Through his show, he also wanted people to know, "Science is about observing and experimenting and figuring out things through that."
He admitted that he liked the experimenting part of science the most. Sean explained experimenting as "You make something that you use for science and then you test it. If you make something that matches your prediction, you can test if your prediction is right." When his mom asked him for an example of an experiment, the boy gave the example of trying to make a magnet move as an experiment. Sean expressed how he would like to show that experiment to his subscribers at some point.
