TED talks are known for inspiring and encouraging people from all walks of life. Each speaker has their credentials and skills, but even the most confident could use some hype from time to time. Hasan Kwame Jeffries (@ProfJeffries on X) got just that from his witty 10-year-old daughter. Jeffries, a professor, podcaster, and author, was set to discuss his TEDx talk with his daughter’s 5th-grade class. Before his talk, his daughter had some amusing pointers for him. Sharing her reminders on X, Jeffries wrote: “Found these ‘reminders’ from her on my desk after she left for school.”

He shared a picture of two notes the little girl had written to him. The first read, “We are 5th graders, not college students. Thank you.” The note ended with the drawing of a smiley and the girl’s signature. It was a straightforward message to her dad to ease up when it was time for his talk and to take it lightly. The girl’s witty note was backed by another adorable reminder. It read, “Also, go to the bathroom before you get on Zoom.” This note too, was elegantly signed off with a smiley, a “thank you” and the girl’s name.

Though in pencil, with broken handwriting, the dad undoubtedly appreciated her efforts to keep the reminders for him. People on the microblogging platform were impressed by the two reminders the girl chose to leave her dad. Several backed her up and suggested she should be rewarded for sharing the most ideal reminders. @greenwhitelife wrote, “That second note is a Ted talk on its own. Virtual meetings prep and etiquette.” @karinchenoweth added, “That child should be paid a consulting fee! (ice cream cones are good fees).” @Renae131 exclaimed, “I love this. I teach 10-year-olds. They know more than we do.” @edithmarie2 shared, “She is not wrong with her advice.”

Everyone needs a little reminder to live, learn and get on track with life. In a similar instance, another dad-daughter duo had adorably heartwarming reminders to share. However, this time, the dad was the one sending them out. A young woman named Sarah (@sirbroccoli) shared that her dad, Mark, was in awe of stickers and always commented about any he came across every time he visited her. To make things more nostalgic and pleasant, Sarah decided to digitize a character, “Sammy,” her dad often drew all over the place.

The character was a simple shape with dotted eyes, a smile and a few strands of hair poking out but defined the dad and his goofy personality. Sarah decided to go ahead and make stickers of Sammy and handed them over to her dad. To keep Sammy close to his daughter, the dad came up with a brilliant idea. “He puts them in places where I walk so that I will always walk by and see them and think of him. And it was just adorable.” The dad proudly stuck them on pillars, lampposts and several outdoor spaces along Sarah's regular commute route. They adorably served as reminders of him being around! @olivialayne06 wrote, “Putting it in places you can always see so you think of him is so sweet.” @phillyfoodladies added, “I’ll be on the lookout for his stickers!”
